MTV can you bring these back puh-leeze?

For as long as I’ve had MTV, I was about ten I think, I was glued to the shows and the various music video shows they used to have. These days there are only a few shows I can count off of one hand that I would watch today on that channel.

BAM! Flashback to my old loves!

Rich Girls

Why they cancelled this show after one season I’ll never know. Right, Ally went to rehab. I loved Ally and Jaime regardless and seeing them go to prom and their weekend vacations to Nantucket. I especially felt like I had a connection with Ally when she had a breakdown in her house and couldn’t make herself any Mexican food. When she cried I cried. Yeah it was that sort of thing. Anyways, I heard they might put it out on DVD so uh hello BIRTHDAY PRESENT!

PoweR Girls

And from this moment on, little itty bitty Katie said she wanted to be a PR girl. I would never work for Lizzie Grubman though or Kelly Cuthrone for that matter. But yet I still wanted their job and still do! Let’s hope I age better than Lizzie and Kelly ;)

Diary

I’m so sad they discontinued this show but I really enjoyed seeing into the lives of mainstream celebrities. It was a place for them to clear up any misconceptions but at the same time for us to just see that they were normal people, I think that’s still something that many people haven’t been able to grasp quite yet. I especially loved the Aaliyah episode.

The Paper

So this was a fairly new show… as in last year but that doesn’t mean I didn’t clear my 10:00 Monday night schedule just to watch it! Basically, I was jealous of these kids. If anything our newspaper class should have had this show but whateves. I had a major crush on Alex haha and I loved Amanda’s character and hated when Gianna was a beezy to her. The show was not long enough but I’m sure these kids wouldn’t want to be filmed in college either while they weren’t working on their high school newspaper. It was meant to end.

8th & Ocean

Was this not the hottest cast ever on a show? The day in a life of models. The only let down about this show was the boss – the owner/manager whatever of the company, she was freakin’ scary looking. But I wanted to see what happened w/ Britt and Teddy’s relationship! It’s funny how I’ll see these people in ads every now and then, and it looks like their still doing well. As for the twins… they’ll just be stuck in Acuvue.

Dancelife

Was literally glued to the television every time this came on. They always had these auditions coming up and we would see into the lives of each character and then sometime in the middle of the episode they would cut to a clip of them by themselves in the dance room just “letting go.” and it was always the most emotional part of the show cause it was just really intense. It was a semi-decent show. Now I just want a dance room in my future house.

FANatic

Couldn’t find a picture. It was only funny because it was by far the ultimate stalker creeper show and you could tell the celebrities were a little freaked out themselves that these random people knew so much about their lives that the celebrities could care less about.

I’m From Rolling Stone

Why can’t MTV have more shows like this? This show aired Sunday nights at nine or ten and it was totally underrated. MTV had their doubts about it HOBviously but my brother Kevin and I loved it. Why wouldn’t you want to know what it was like to intern for a magazine like Rolling Stone? I was so so jealous of these guys.

Laguna Beach (THE FIRST SEASON)

When the boys were hot and the girls were extremely witchy. Stephen and Trey were my loves. Lo had the best one liners. Kristin played dumb or was actually just like that. It was the greatest season and then the 2nd didn’t get much better and no one cared about LC’s little sister in the third. This might be an example of when a show should just stop after one season.

Road Rules

before it became the real world/road rules challenge. That was just a bad idea. I want the original!

So what were some of your favorite old MTV shows?
