Pepper Spray Gem

Pepper spray comes in all sorts of packages. I have seen them in a form of a lip gloss, something on a key ring, or something the size of a small hair spray can.

This pepper spray ring above does exactly the job it’s supposed to do and is much smaller than any of the other options. It even has a safety switch just in case!

NYC Prep Preview Special

So I’m watching this episode online and there’s just one thing that is sort of sticking out to me about these characters: They are characters. I get that Bravo has tried to make this show seem like a realistic version of Gossip Girl but this isn’t going to happen.

This guy PC is the biggest toolbox I have ever seen and a wanna be Chuck Bastard.

Jessica: Who do you wanna date?

PC: If I knew that, I wouldn’t be in this position.

Jessica: I can’t help you if you don’t want me to help you

PC: I said you could.

PC (throws water bottle at Jessica and proceeds to speedily snap his fingers at her) Make it happen.

Jessica: You threw a mother fu—– water bottle at me. Honestly I don’t need to be here. It’s not all about you.

PC: It IS !

- end scene -

The snapping fingers thing… who does that?

The show will be on tonight at 10 PM  for more lulz moments but if you would also like to see the preview special, you can watch the whole thing on Bravo here

[2.45] for snappy fingers

Who Falls Asleep While Getting A Tattoo?

Short version: this girl (Kimberley Vlaminck) wanted three star tattoos on the left side of her face. She claims that she “fell asleep” in the chair during the procedure. The end result? When you don’t pay attention you get 56 stars on the left side on your face!  Now she’s suing the tattoo artist  because of course this is not what she wanted and if she wins her case the guy is gonna have to pay to have it removed. Bring on the LULZ

Kimberley is suing Toumaniantz for £10,000 after she paid £55 for ‘the graffiti that has ruined my life’.

Let’s identify the things wrong with this picture.

1. I’m sorry, you said you fell asleep while someone was tattooing your face? Is this possible? Pictures or it didn’t happen.

2. Your belt says “sexy” on it. Are you serious?

3. You’re 18 years old. This is what you get for making such a rash decision. It’s time to start living w/ your consequences hahah sorry about your ruined life?

4. The guy tattooing your face. Enough said.

It’s a music post!

My taste in music has gone through many phases. Let me just break it down for you.

Age 0 – 3 – - – - That Barney ish and the theme song to every children’s show. Let’s throw in.. Blossom. That’s not a kids’ show but it will do

Age 4-6 – - – - – Rap. I kid you not. My brother and I used to rap the songs to lyrics. Okay that’s a lie, maybe he rapped the songs and I was the chorus that the female usually sang. Mariah Carey, 112, Ginuwine, Tupac, Biggie, Mase, Blackstreet,

Age 7-9 – - – - – - Spice Girls and your typical pop, mainstream radio.

Age 10-13 – - – - – Britney, Christina, Mandy, Jessica, N’Sync, Backstreet Boys, M2M, BBMak lulz.

Age 14 — – - – - – -  John Mayer and the electronica phase of C89.5, Kaskade, ATB, Paul Van Dyke

Age 15-18 – - – - – - Indie and local Seattle bands – Danger Radio, The Scene Aesthetic, Daphne Loves Derby, This Providence, Gatsby’s American Dream, Forgive Durden

Age 19 – DJ’s and remixes as well as everything above.

Today, I wouldn’t really know what to call the music I listen to. I would say  I listen to a mixture of all of my previous phases, but that doesn’t mean I’m not expanding my library still because I am, so with that I’m going to introduce you to two different artists/dj’s who are both similar and different!

First is Pretty Lights.

Derek Vincent Smith, a producer from Colorado, combines electronic music and simple beats often times accompanied with a drummer to create “soulful music.” He juxtaposes collages of beautiful vintage samples against backdrops of futuristic synthesis and dirty broken beats, creating a sound that can snap your neck while simultaneously shedding your tears.

To listen to Pretty Lights, view his Myspace here

Second is The Twelves!

Yay! Thank you Hudson for introducing me :)

This dynamic duo pair from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil are receiving quite a bit of attention for their remixes! Word on the street is that they have amazing sets and currently their songs are playing all over the clubs in Brazil. I hope they come to the US soon cause I would love to see them!

To listen to them visit their MySpace!

Listen to Metric’s “Help, I’m Alive” remix first!

Inapropro USB drives

People have been designing the most outrageous USB drives recently. Urban Outfitters had their Lego one recently and now you can purchase this for $29.64 each:

If you ask me, that’s just a little bit much for a USB drive. I’m perfectly content with my very standard one by SanDisk.

Air Sex World Championships

Yes, something like this actually exists. This competition has been going on for a month and they just came to Seattle last Friday! I wish I would’ve known, how funny would it be to actually watch people performing air sex?! Pictures don’t really do it justice though.

The rules are as follows:

Time: Contestants have a maximum of 2 minutes to perform an air sex routine. This can include all phases of an air sex encounter: meeting, seduction, foreplay and intercourse, or you can simply cut to the chase.

Music: Competitors must perform to music, you can either bring a CD of your performance track with you, or you can choose from our selection of air sex music. You may also include an audio prelude to your performance, maximum of 30 seconds.

Other Rules: Unlike air guitar, there are not many other rules. Props are allowed, teams are allowed, talking is allowed. The only important rule is that all sexual climaxes must be simulated, not real.

To find out more about this competition and if you will be able to catch the last leg of the tour as well as view more pictures and videos click here for the official site.

Double Take

Ever seen or heard something that made you go wtf? I’m not talking my business calculus class that I already don’t understand… I mean REALLY.

But every once in a while you come across something totally unexplainable. When you tell your friends they give you a skeptical look.

Cue your response before that even happens, “And I am NOT lying!”

There’s a website that displays all of these truly treasured moments.

And I am NOT lying

Central Park, Manhattan

Brooklyn, New York

Nice one…

Okay I apologize the intro statement I just did was absolutely terrible. My bad.

But here’s my example of my very own “And I am NOT lying!”

Vancouver, Canada

The Uniform Project

Brooklyn native Sheena Matheiken took on the Uniform Project earlier this year starting May 1st to see if she could wear one single dress every single day for an entire year, 365 different ways. The Uniform Project “is an online record of Matheiken’s daily attempts at reinventing an unvarying silhouette—distinguished only by a solitary pintuck pleat and buttons running down the back—as an exercise in sustainable fashion.”

The dress was custom designed by Eliza Starbuck that can be worn both ways. 7 identical dresses were created for Sheena to wear at least once every week.

Not only is Sheena trying to prove that she can do this, it also happens to be for a year long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation’s School Project, “which pays for uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in India’s slums.”

Jon & Kate Plus 8 go on hiatus

DUH!

The season was signed for 40 episodes but only 6 episodes have aired. Due to the tension between Jon and Kate there hasn’t been enough material to produce more episodes but also the hiatus was suggested by the network for obvious reasons.

Maddy does NOT approve.
