Bellevue ad firm, Kite, has created Capitol Hill’s new logo for the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce.
The brand strategy and visual design convey key themes that came up in the research and are part of the overall brand including: inclusivity, energy, diversity and dynamism. The idea behind the design is to visually represent the spirit of the socially inclusive and multi-faceted community by creating a solid background with the name “Capitol Hill” repeated many times.
The Stranger decided to poll their readers:
Does this new logo make you feel
- Included
- Energetic
- Diverse
- Dynamic
- Other
I’m going to have to go with the “other” option. My feelings towards this logo have absolutely nothing to do with their intended goal. I have a question. Why do the green letters spelling “Capitol Hill” in the background look so sloppy? This looks like something someone designed in wannabe old skool Kid-Pix. And why is Capitol Hill so green? The neighborhood is covered in rainbows!
Try again?
Meh, looks like wordart gone wild… aka craptastic
