Unfriend y/n?

Every now and then I’ll be on Facebook skimming through my newsfeed when something catches my eye for more than two seconds. It’s a “friend” of course, but technically I haven’t talked to this person in months, years? I don’t know anything about their life currently, so I start to ask myself, “Why exactly am I friends with this person?”

Other times, I’ll realize I have way too many of these types of people in my friends list. At this point, I go through the entire list and start deleting people. In a way, it’s sort of like saying… I’m taking you out of my life and preventing you from browsing everything into my life. Seriously, if you think about it, there’s a lot you can learn about someone by just being friends with them on Facebook. You know who they talk to, who they’re friends with, contact info, etc. I have to wonder…if I don’t talk to you, why do you want to be my “friend?” I decided to ask my REAL friends in REAL life and on Facebook this question:

Have you ever deleted a friend off Facebook and why?

“Yes I have, but only after I accept them and realize I don’t know who they are. Usually I just hide people I don’t want to see from my feed.”

“No I haven’t and because I can’t bring myself to do it…in some way we had a good memory so I don’t want to take that one last connection away from it.”

“Yeah, cause I didn’t really know them and because I’ve had frienships end so I’ve deleted people then.

Twelve by Twelve

Forever 21′s come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes. Actually more specifically they come in different colors, brands, and styles. Forever 21 is on their way to ending every “fast fashion” brand out there. One of the reasons why is Twelve by Twelve.

A few months ago, I went to their store at Northgate Mall and was absolutely blown away by the set up of their store. Believe me, set up goes a long way. They had different sections for different styles whether you were hardcore on gray denim and leather, or girly with lace and cream colored blouses. They had an area for shoes. They had a noticeable sales area, jackets portion and a section for going out clothes. It made things easier for me because I knew where to look if I needed something. This Forever 21 also has an area for Twelve By Twelve.

If you didn’t know that Forever 21 had sub-brands then you would think that they all blended together and weirdly… but Twelve By Twelve caters to a very specific design. They are still decently priced, but you can tell that there was definitely some more time and creativity spent behind the clothes. Many of the pieces look like something that would be a an imitation of a red-carpet worthy outfit or something off of the runway. They have done a good job of pulling from current trends. Here are some of my favorites:

Howard Zinn Passes

Historian and political activist, Howard Zinn, passed away today at the age of 87. Last year, one of my required readings was his book, “A People’s History of American Empire.” It’s a great book that depicts history as well as kind of his autobiography as he lives through most of it in comic strip form. You all should check it out, he seemed like an interesting man and seemed to live a wonderful life.

Rest in peace Mr. Howard.

Ugly Betty – - > Cancelled Betty

ABC has  just informed the producers of Ugly Betty that their current fourth season will be their last season. Instead of having the season run 22 shows as intended, they have cut it down to 20.

The Apple iPad

The Apple iPad was released today. Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about this product, so I’m going to refer you to Gizmodo. Every article on there right now refers to the iPad and I can’t read it on my computer because I think there are too many people freaking out about it that it is slowing down my computer.

And Apple continues to rule our lives…

You’re Welcome.

Today Ed Banger sent out an email to the mass music bloggers about the new song “Beginning of the End,” by … wait for it…Justice.

The dynamic duo Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay will reportedly have an LP out later on this year, which is hinting at the idea that this song will appear on it.

Be be my Valentine

I have never had a Valentine before. Isn’t that the saddest thing? Don’t feel sorry for me. Valentine’s Day should not be spent alone, but unfortunately for many people and myself included, these things happen sometimes. I have always wanted to know what it was like to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Everything I can go off of is what happens in the movies or in television shows. Sometimes my friends will share with me their stories, but I never used to take them that seriously because… c’mon it was high school.

I think that I won’t even be able to spend Valentine’s Day with anyone this year even if I wanted to. It’d be nice if I could get a box of red velvet cupcakes though. That would probably make my day awesome. Then, I will take that box and eat them all. by. myself. and “love” it while watching Definitely, Maybe.

Seattle’s Sexiest

The Stranger blog, Slog, is holding a contest to find the sexiest people of Seattle. If you feel like nominating someone, all you have to is upload a photo to the group pool on their Flickr account here. Today I was reading my daily news from their site and managed to see this announcement above a picture of an old co-worker. He was a barista… but unfortunately for me, I never had the chance of really getting to know him. I missed out on one sexy person HOBviously.

Meet Seattle’s sexiest accountant. She’s the Morton’s salt girl. Loves it.

More details for the contest can be found here
