You will either love or hate this song. You’ll love it because it’s Cheryl Cole and apparently my stats tell me that you are a fan because the “I Like Your Style” feature post on her is always on top. You like her because she’s in the group Girls Aloud and is a judge on X-Factor, a show only in the UK and not… in America. Or you sympathize w/ her cause her husband Ashley Cole is a douche and cheated on her once again and she’s left him basically.
Reasons why you won’t like this song: The lyrics are clichey and when you listen to it you are reminded of those cheesy pop songs that people behind movies make up. You know they’re the ones in which the movie’s synopsis is about a budding pop star, someone that wants to make it into the music business, someone one that used to be in the music business and now wants a comeback. Seriously, it’s one of those. But other than that it’s very catchy.
One of my favorite songs and favorite French groups.
H&M and Forever 21 are two of my favorite “fast fashion” clothing stores. I know it sounds generic when I call these stores my favorite because that’s what the entire mainstream world says, but in their defense, for the most part they produce decent clothing. It’s wearable, inexpensive, versatile, and trendy.
Both lines have recently released the press images for their Garden Collection and I’m having a hard time choosing which one I like most. They’re just that good.
H&M

Nice w/ simple jeans or a white knee length skirt?
My heart goes out to those who were affected by this earthquake. Keeping everyone in my thoughts! It is disappointing that we have had a difficult beginning with this year first w/ Haiti, now Chile, and those who are on Tsunami watch.
Also this week in sad news, we say goodbye to Marie Osmond’s son who was 18 and actor Andrew Koenig who was 41. Both committed suicide.
Remember when MTV debuted their new show “College Life” last year? I thought it was going to be really good, but then it wasn’t what I expected and the first episode let me down so hard that I stopped watching. I feel like MTV has a lot of shows like that. They play it off like there is potential in a new direction of a show, but then it just fails. But maybe it didn’t fail. Did anyone watch it and finish out the whole season? I’d like to know what the rest of it is like, but I am not going to put myself through the actual full season.
Way to stay strong Buried Life.
Vi Bacchus on Union Street in Capitol Hill has closed. Aww sad day for this sushi restaurant who even had the Seattle University roll on their menu. It’s a tough market out there for sushi restaurants these days. I’ve only eaten there a couple of times, but it’s nowhere near my favorite Wasabi Bistro. They had a good run and they catered well to young underage students at Seattle University…if you know what I mean.
I wonder what new restaurant will take it’s place!

As if you didn’t know this was coming…
HipHandMaids have put together this protective case for Apple’s new iPad which is being sold on Etsy for $30.
The case perfectly named iMaxi is made with a vinyl exterior and a cotton interior. The cases comes in white, red, or white/red. I think I’d be a little scared to go with the red on this one…

I think this might be for Seattle University students only, but if you are a student check your email for the latest update from the Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons. They are asking you to name our new cafe, which will be serving sandwiches, salads, coffee, tea, soda and other light snack, open next school year.
How fun would it be to name it after a popular television show’s hangout. ie) The Max from Saved By the Bell. The decor would have to look the same too. YES! good idea. y/n? What are some other good ones?
I must be boring because there are not many Fall 2010 Fashion Week posts this time around. That just means that there’s not a lot that I feel are wearable or at least worthy of being called a favorite. Oh, welcome to London.

Whales used to be one of my favorite sea animals until I heard the story about trainer Dawn Brancheau’s tragic death with her killer whale. On Wednesday afternoon, Dawn was working the “Dine with Shamu” event at Sea World with Telly, a 30-year-old 12,000 pound whale.
“[She] was laying on the platform, massaging the whale, petting it. All of a sudden, it latched on and took her under,” said a witness. “He came up one time out of the water with her in his mouth. That was the last we saw of her because they were running us out of there.” Alarms went off as an emergency crew tried to rescue Dawn.
How ironic… dine w/ Shamu?
Sad news for the whale because this is the third death that Telly has been involved in. Dawn Brancheau had been working with killer whales for sixteen years. I can’t imagine how many kids were traumatized in the event they witnessed that Wednesday.
