Participation Frustration

When I was in high school and junior high, participation was required in my classes. I had no problem with it then. I talked whenever I felt it was necessary to.

What really makes me nervous is going into a lecture while I’m in college and being forced to talk. I’m already in college, please, don’t make me talk about a subject that I don’t feel comfortable talking about. The classes here are relatively small, about the size of a class from my high school, but when I envision college I imagine just a straight lecture. I would be so happy with that. I understand that having other people “share” is probably more entertaining, but I’m fine if you want to talk as long as I don’t have to.

I am dreading going to class tomorrow.

because it’s the updated shrug of the shoulders?

Harry Shum Jr. (Glee) has Talent

Every time I have seen Harry on Glee he has never said one line. Actually, false. Correction. In the last episode, he said “It’s going to be choppy,” when Finn had brought them a new song to add to their performances for Sectionals last minute. Other than that I have seen his character Mike make many faces throughout the season and will dance every chance he gets!

I recently came across this video of him free styling to the orchestra version of Kanye West’s Flashing Lights . It’s actually a really nice piece and it makes me excited to start dancing again this Spring!

Monopoly for the Modern Win

This year, the popular board game Monopoly, will turn 75. Not yet ready to retire or anything yet, the makers have decided to give it a little bit of a makeover! Instead of the rectangular shaped board, they have opted for a circular one. Say goodbye to metal scrap pieces and hello to outlined shapes of the old version.

This game was the death of me. I have yet to win one single game and always lost with multiple debts. Growing up, I used to think that if I could win a game, I might just survive in this real world. So every loss was just another disappointing blow that I probably wasn’t going to make it haha

Would you play it? Y/N?!

Old Disney vs New Disney

Welcome to the world of Miley Cyrus, Wizards of Waverly Place, and High School Musical. Don’t get me wrong, I actually don’t mind watching them every once in a while and I’m not ashamed to admit it. When I was younger though, the Disney Channel meant so much more to me. They were more than just a television channel, their website was a kid’s playground. Now that I’ve typed that, I’ve realized how corny that sounded. Anyways, I bumped into two Disney Channel “Express Yourself” videos tonight. One is from 2010 with the new stars and the other is from…the old times, the good times.

I’m gonna go ahead and predict the favorite of the two.

I wish they would bring back Even Stevens and The Famous Life of Jett Jackson. I miss you Zoog Disney.

2010 Dirtiest Hotels

A few years back, I took my first trip to Japan and had the privilege of staying in six different hotels all over Okinawa. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Some hotels were nicer than others, some had more character, better food, etc etc the list goes on. What makes a good hotel? A place where you feel like you’re home essentially. What makes a bad hotel?

One of the hotels I had stayed at said they had a restaurant that served dinner at 6 PM. 6 PM rolls around and we find that this restaurant is actually in a basement and not a restaurant. It looked like a cafeteria with NO ONE there and food in bulk served all you can eat…or at your own risk. When I mean no one, I mean it was my family and I. Not even the staff was sighted.  The atmosphere seriously made me feel like I was in a horror movie. We didn’t eat dinner. How did the hotel redeem itself? They helped us contact another hotel and a taxi that would transport us there. :)

Trip Advisor just posted ten hotels they recommend you NOT stay at. And I would take their advice because there are plenty of unhappy guests that can vouch for them.
