It’s “A” Day!

Who’s it gonna be?!

In the Pretty Little Liars mid-season finale airing tonight, the identity of “A” will  be revealed!

It has been a long time coming and there are many more characters than when we started this show, but which one of them is cunning enough to have two secrets lives – and one that includes continuously torturing our girls?

Mona Vanderwall

I automatically want to assume it is her because she’s actually “A” in the books, but there’s something about her character on the show that I just can’t pinpoint exactly. It might be because I don’t want her to be “A.” Mona suffered from the wrath of Alison pretty badly so she has her motives for wanting to get back at the girls, but in recent episodes her vulnerability has made her out to be a likable character. However, if she is “A,” it would make sense for her to try and get closer to the girls by penning herself as a victim too.

Jenna Marshall

Is it possible that she is responsible for the “Ian” thing w/ Garrett AND being “A” at the same time? It’s a lot to take on, but I think Jenna could handle it. She has her reasons for wanting to get back at the girls and now that we’ve recently found out that she isn’t blind anymore (was she ever?) the idea of her being “A” is looking to be more likely. Also does anyone remember the scene at the end of the last finale when the waitress at the cafe approaches “A” at the table and calls them “pretty eyes?” Well, Jenna has pretty eyes.

Noel Kahn

It is unclear what his relationship with Alison was before she went missing. Were they friends? More than friends? Regardless, Noel has been popping up at the most unexpected places on Pretty Little Liars. Remember when he mysteriously showed up at Mona’s Glamping Birthday Party? Wasn’t that girls only? He’s been caught in a couple other questionable situations as well like when he played DJ at the fashion show and the slideshow was tampered with to include a strange tribute to Alison. If he’s not responsible, then who is? Let’s also not forget the time when the girls and the rest of their classmates spent the night at the school and Aria was nearly attacked by Noel on the roof. I’m still waiting for an explanation about that.

Lucas Gottesman

Lucas is the character that I would like to NOT be “A” the most. He’s been slightly troubled in the episodes that we’ve seen, but can you blame him? Alison was a menace. He faced the same bullying that Mona did, but because of his close friendship with Hanna, I just don’t want to believe that he is “A.” Their friendship would never survive that especially because “A” hit Hanna with a car, blackmailed her, and framed her boyfriend. However, I don’t believe that he was only hiding the fact that he lost all of Caleb’s money. That was just too easy and not enough to terrify Hanna on the canoe and run away for a couple of days.

Other possible suspects:

  • Ezra Fitz – “A” didn’t show up until he did.
  • Maya St. Germain – How does she always appear whenever she pleases? She’s got a knack for staying hidden. She also lived in Alison’s old house. Was she able to uncover all of the secrets left behind?
  • Melissa Hastings – Her character is the sketchiest of them all.
  • Jason Dilaurentis – What is he always hiding? Why is he vague with everything he says?
  • Jackie Molina – I just want her character to come back. Could both her and Ezra be “A?”
  • Alison’s twin – If this story line is following the books, then this would be correct.
