Table For One

I know it’s a strange thing to admire, but I find it fascinating when people can eat alone. Growing up, eating has always been something that I have done with others whether it’s a family dinner or sharing a meal and catching up with someone. I can count on just one hand the number of time that I have ever eaten alone in a public place and each time I’ve always felt a little awkward. I become self-conscious. I can’t seem to focus solely on my food even though I have nothing else to focus on. I whip out my phone and pretend to play with it. It’s a little odd, isn’t it? Someday, I hope to become better at this. It’s funny though cause Maddie and I were actually talking about this the other day. For several of our classes in our major, we have had to take personality tests like the Meyer’s Briggs. I was an ENFJ and she’s quite the opposite and told me that she often does things by herself like her first instinct when she has to run an errand or grab something to eat is alone whereas Max (another ENFJ) and I’s first instinct is to invite someone along with us.

Point of this post: here’s a blog devoted to pictures of people eating solo.
