It may be a little bit too early to secure plans for the 4th of July, but who doesn’t like to be prepared? For the past several years, I have been celebrating the 4th in or around Seattle. Last year, I think a few of my friends and I had watched the fireworks from underneath a freeway overpass by Volunteer Park. It’s not as sketch as it sounds. This year, however, I might just be having my very own adventure for the 4th for the first time in five years!
No word yet on what that might be, but regardless, Seattle is going to be bumpin’ this year.

Two of my favorite Seattle bands, Pickwick and Hey Marseilles will be performing for the 4th of July festivities at a popular spot for the holiday: Gasworks Park.
Make sure you get there early because these two bands are absolutely amazing.
Pickwick and 2 other great bands will be playing on the Starbucks Stage in Gas Works Park (http://family4th.org/information#starbucks), while Hey Marseilles and 3 other bands will be on the Microsoft Stage in Lake Union Park. (http://family4th.org/information#microsoft). Both stages are produced by One Reel, in an effort to tie the Family 4th and the Wooden Boat Festival — two longtanding 4th of July traditions at opposite ends of Lake Union — together! You can get from one park to the other via the Cheshiahud Loop, by bike or on foot, and avoid the holiday traffic.
Pickwick makes some good music!
YEAH they do!
