App Rewards People For Not Texting

A new app has been created to reward movie-goers with discount tickets if they do not text during a movie.

I’m sorry, what?

I thought I heard recently that someone had said that it was MY generation that felt that they were entitled to certain things. Well, this certainly isn’t helping the case. But seriously, people my age (in their 20’s) do not need to continue believing that they deserve rewards for things they already should not be doing.

Apparently, movie chain theater – Cinemark is allowing users to check into “Cinemode” when a movie starts. The app will then track your usage throughout the movie, whether you are texting or logging onto the internet, etc. and if by the end of the movie, there has been no activity at all then you will be rewarded with a discounted ticket the next time you see a movie.

Ridiculous.
