The Seattle Street Food Fest Recap

I feel absolutely spoiled living here in Seattle and being surrounded by so much yummy food. All. The. Time. Yesterday, Wanita and I took a trip to the Seattle Street Food Fest in my old stomping grounds of Capitol Hill to sample some of the best that this city has to offer via food trucks! This summer, we were also greeted with the Fremont Food Truck event as well as the Bite of Seattle which I attended with Ash. You would think that three food events in one season would all start to look the same, but there were actually quite different. The vendors at the event yesterday varied completely than the ones I had seen at the Bite and Wanita said that she preferred this event to the one in Fremont because it had more vendors and was less crowded.

It’s a tough call – I must say, but at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter because I am getting fed. By the time we got to the event yesterday, I was starving having not eaten much all day long and wanting to hold out for the big show. We both decided on visiting Sam Choy’s Poke to the Max because…who doesn’t love Hawaiian food, right? It had been years since I had a fantastic bowl of poke so I was craving their Salmon one and it was exactly what I dreamed of! The pieces of salmon were tasty, flavorful, and fat – the perfect combination. Wanita snagged herself a bowl of Loco Moco and having never tried it before, I was pretty impressed with the first bite.

After being satisfied for our dinner, we decided that it only made sense to have dessert. I had seen many attendees walking around with colorful cups of snow cones with fresh fruit and condensed milk at the top. I had to hop on the band wagon. Wanita and I split a mixed fruit one and were pleasantly surprised with how amazing it was. Thai Curry Simple could do no wrong with it. I could’ve had a second one to myself, but…willpower.
