Facebook Town

Facebook has acquired 630,000 sq ft of rental property to build up new housing units (394 to be exact) for their employees. Amenities will include a sports bar, a doggy day care and a bike path along the San Francisco Bay that leads to only a 5-minute commute. While I understand the intentions of companies wanting to create these housing arrangements for employees to be “closer to work,” I think it does more harm than good. A little separation is always necessary. There should be a space between your work life and your personal life. I also am personally a little freaked out that “Facebook Town” (I’m sure that’s not what it will actually be called) is so massive. Real talk here – do you really want to be neighbors with everyone that you work with?
