AmazonFresh Launches in San Francisco

Watch out Google Shopping Express! Seattle’s very own AmazonFresh launched last week in San Francisco and we heard that this could be a complete game changer. When I lived in Seattle, I never took advantage of the opportunity to use the service, but I’ve always heard good things. The delivery ws fast and convenient not to mention the customers were usually pretty pleased.

AmazonFresh offers same-day grocery delivery on orders of more than $35, which you can bundle with books, electronics, and 500,000 more items from the Amazon warehouses. Orders placed by 10 a.m. arrive “by dinner,” orders placed by 10 p.m. arrive “by breakfast.”

The online supermarket also includes an area called “SF Spotlight” that highlights a number of local food producers and restaurants. Order coffee from Philz, bagels from Beauty’s, meat from Avedano’s, seafood from the San Francisco Fish Company, pasta from Baia, and more, along with readymade meals from restaurants like Homeroom, Rosamunde, and Curry Up Now.

I am very excited to see how well this Seattle company fairs down here in the Bay! My co-workers have used Google Shopping Express for quite some time now to order Kit Kats and various candies for snacks while others have tried out Good Eggs – another grocery delivery service.
