Bay Area Eats:

Long extended holiday weekends are perfect for brunch and there was no shortage of it this weekend. If I had to pick a very meal, it would be brunch. Hi. It include two meals in one – breakfast and lunch. Basically if you’re trying to be cost efficient by not eating three meals a day, you could eat two and it would be pretty much the same thing because you can eat your breakfast at lunch time. The logic is so clear to me somehow.

On Saturday, I went on a friend date with Francis where I had to choose our brunch spot and he had to pick our activity. Of course I chose Plow – my favorite brunch spot in Potretro Hill. This was actually the first place I went to with Kevin and Veng when I moved down here and on a whim and since then it’s been a favorite…this is my second time here. The wait is a little bit crazy, but I’m someone that doesn’t care about that that much. I’ll wait as long as I need to for good food even if that means close to an hour and a half. The first time I visited Plow, I ordered the Soft Scrambled Eggs, but this time I opted for “The Plow” because I really wanted some of their infamous Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. YUM. Francis got the Egg Sandwich which was a delicious gooey mess.

You can’t start an entire day of football watching without a hearty meal. I recently decided to start “Brunch Club” with two of my co-workers which involves me dragging them along to a different brunch place every other weekend. This weekend, we hit up Pastis French Bistro in Palo Alto – Tommy’s pick! It was such a gorgeous day so we opted to sit outside with a view of the farmer’s market. I ordered the Omelette de Campagne – Spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and shallots, served with hand-cut potatoes. Yep, it’s a french twist on what I usually order – a classic veggie omelette.
