Richard Sherman Don’t Have to Change

“I ran over to Crabtree to shake his hand but he ignored me. I patted him, stuck out my hand and said, “Good game, good game.” That’s when he shoved my face, and that’s when I went off.”

There’s a whole lot of debate about Richard Sherman’s post-game interview the day after the big Seahawks vs 49’ers game and frankly, I don’t find it to be a big deal. Sure, the rant was a little cray and intense, but that’s how Seahawks fans ARE. The whole city is kind of crazy and I love it. We’re going to the Super Bowl so of course everyone is a little bit excited and in the heat of the moment Richard Sherman just wasn’t holding anything back. I don’t think he necessarily said anything wrong though because everything he said was true…Crabtree was talking smack about Sherman earlier this week.

And in case you missed it… what everyone’s talking about on your Facebook newsfeed:

It’s uncomfortable to see how non-Seahawks fans reacted to this and how quickly this got ugly with racial comments. Cool it. Bros, u just mad you didn’t get it.

No, but in all seriousness, it’s a game. It’s a rivarly and I don’t think it’s something that people should take too seriously. Richard Sherman is not a villain. He is not uneducated. He graduated with a Communications degree at Stanford and he’s worked his ass off to get to where he is today. The city of Seattle is proud of him and the rest of the team and I don’t think they need to change up what they’re doing. Sherman knows that the post-game interview he gave may have come off wrong and because of that he’s written a post to address it. You can read it in full here – and it’s worth the read to at least hear the other side of the story.
