And so music festival season begins…

When I was working in the music industry and a part of the scene in college, this would always be the time that I was looking forward to! Of course, it was also my research, but I loved seeing which festivals would pick who as headliners and even supporters. When other people saw the lineup and became upset with it, I would empathize with the organizers because I know what that feels like and hey! I’ve been there too. You do the best that you can with the budget that you don’t reveal with anyone. So much work goes into this, but in one second after a year’s worth of work, people are quick to judge whether or not your lineup will be a success or not.

I’m a little bit surprised by the lineup actually. I never thought I would see Drake as a headliner, but I think he’d be able to put on a good show. Saturday and Sunday look to be the best days and I’m especially excited to see that Odesza is on the second line on Sunday and doesn’t have the tiniest font on the poster! They’ve really had quite a year and I feel like I never get tired of listening to that album. There’s also some throwbacks on here that I would be excited to see too like Circa Survive.

My coworker asked me today if I had thought about going, but honestly, music festivals – though I love them are so exhausting to me! That heat. The pounding music. The people everywhere. They used to be things that I loved when I was younger, but I’m really turning into what I said the other day which is a granny. With that said, we’ll probably post again about that and I’ll be happy for all my friends that go.
