Find Foxy Films

Almost every evening, I come home from work and spend a little time with my television and my laptop looking for material that I’m going to post that day. I’ve had the same routine since college. 85% of the time it’s something that will be a quick post – something involving fashion, a funny photo, a Song of the Day, something that requires me to write so little because at the end of the day, I’m just tired.

This morning, my brother’s friend Phil launched his new short film company Find Foxy Films as a way to bring real stories to life… so I decided to be a little less tired this evening. Last summer, Phil unexpectedly learned that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Nodular Hogdkin’s Lymphoma and immediately started chemotherapy. Though he had to put his dream job working in the film industry on hold, he wasn’t going to let that stop him from doing what he loved while still getting the treatment he needed in Seattle.

Find Foxy Films will give you a look into those big moments we may face in life in both a personal and intimate form. Some documentaries he has in production will highlight my brother’s two friends becoming parents for the first time and raising their child Asher as he explores his first year while another friend ventures into developing a cooperative brewery in Washington. We will also see Phil’s experience of battling cancer from his own eyes. Above is a scene from Happy Happy Punsalan, which I know you’re all going to love. I am really excited to see all of these films come to fruition.

I was thinking about writing this post all day at work and knew that when I got home, it had to come before anything else. Here are three takeaways that we’re going to leave you with:

  1. Asher is officially the cutest baby we’ve ever seen.
  2. My brother is surrounded by these incredible and strong people that he gets to call his friends.
  3. An inspiration and a role model to everyone in your life, Phil, we always knew you were destined for incredible things (especially after I saw The Short Game I knew for sure) and we’re rooting for you!
