Wedding Decoration Trends to Love in 2015

Unfortunately, we won’t be having our typical “Wedding Mondays” post tomorrow so instead I decided to opt about a new favorite topic of mine: Wedding Decorating Trends in 2015!

Many couples in 2015 are taking the approach of going for a more natural, minimalistic, and understated look and it’s really working. Here are some of my favorites that I think are not only trendy, but will probably remain timeless. One of my friends is currently planning her wedding for 2016 and she plans on incorporating trends from 2015 as well.

Succulents vs. Florals

In previous years, weddings used to always be about florals and the kind of arrangements you had. This was usually quite expensive. Succulents, however, are proving to be a great alternative. Not only are they a bit cheaper (so I’ve heard!) but they also compliment pastel color schemes really well like this one pictured above.

Greenery Everywhere

As a table runner, as a backdrop for your ceremony or even lining the aisleways, lush greenery everywhere is a hit for many weddings this year. Whether your wedding takes place indoors or outdoors, this works either way!

Rustic Details w/o the Barn

A couple of years ago, I felt like rustic barn weddings were all the rage and soon everyone wanted to get married in an abandoned barn and everything was completely DIY. If that setting isn’t for you, but you still love the details of a rustic wedding, it can be really easy to incorporate lace (for some romanticism) and burlap into your decorations for that farmy feel.

Ombre

Weddings involving color are so much more fun! It can be a little bit of work and some back and forth when choosing your colors, but if you pick one color and work around it by including the rest of the color family, you’ve basically made your job a lot easier. This ombre flower petal aisle is so pretty and not over the top or too extravagant. You can also incorporate ombre in other decorating aspects for your day as well.
