Some Just Don’t Age

photo cred | Fashionista

WWD reported today that Christy Turlington Burns was returning to her role as the face of Calvin Klein this coming fall. Well, the model previously starred in their campaigns back in the 80s and guess what? She hasn’t aged at all! These two pictures side-by-side of back then and today look nearly the same. Her first Calvin Klein gig on the right was shot back in 1988. And we did the math. That was 25 years ago! But we can’t all be Christy now, can we?

Google Music – Yay or Nay?

My thoughts:

  • I love the ad.
  • The setup reminds me of iTunes.
  • Spotify already takes care of the sharing music aspect.

Now it’s your turn to weigh in!

Rupert Grint and Tom Felton for Band of Outsiders

I was more excited to learn about this Band of Outsiders F/W campaign than learning who was actually in it, but there’s no denying how good these two Harry Potter co-stars look. I think I could pretty much fall for any guy who lives in Band of Outsiders. The clothes – the style, they both make my heart melt.  If I had a disposable income, I am almost sure that I would be purchasing some of their shirts for myself just because they look so put together and comfortable. Here are some of my favorite snapshots of Rupert Grint and Tom Felton for Band of Outsiders.

“Become Someone Else”

This beautiful campaign designed by Lithuanian Agency, Love, is called  “Become Someone Else” and it is a concept that resonates with all of us when we are drawn to a story or a book. The agency explains,

“When one reads books, he/she starts living it and identifies (or not) with main hero. These print ads for the Mint Vinetu bookstore, which sells lots of classics, focuses on the idea of becoming someone else. And provokes people to try on different personas.”

American Apparel doesn’t make us want to cover our eyes for once

My favorite type of kids are the ones that:

a) dress well

b) can dance

Mine are going to be both. That’s right, I’m raising hipster children! I can only hope that I find a husband someday that will share the same values and dreams as I do for my children. Terry Richardson?! I kid I kid!

In this new advertisement by American Apparel, Dov Charney warms our hearts with two renowned break dancers – Jalen Testerman (10) and Angelo Baligad (9) The video was directed by photographer Tom Kelly.

I think it’s safe to say that this is the most comfortable I have ever felt towards the retailer. This is one ad that I don’t think should be censored from them.

Well played, Dov.

Zooey Deschanel for Rimmel

Oh hi, this looks NOTHING like Zooey. This is a bad case of photoshop abuse.

Well, I wonder what the new spokesmodel has to say about this…

Leighton Meester for Missoni

Leighton Meester’s first photo from Missoni’s spring campaign have just been released and they are too cute. This doesn’t mean that she has won the battle for campaigns just yet though. That decision won’t be made until we get a peak at her Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively’s Chanel campaign.

The campaign was inspired by the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

This fantastic shoot was done by one of my favorite photographers Juergen Teller. He is also responsible for all of the quirky Marc Jacobs ad campaigns as well.
