Blast From The Past: TRL

As a kid, I used to love coming home to Total Request Live after school. No joke – I even voted for my favorite songs every now and then. 98 Degrees’ “I Do (Cherish You)” – how can you not want that to be at the top of the countdown? And if it wasn’t number one consistently, it was life-shattering. Just kidding, no it wasn’t, but at that age your feelings for all things that shouldn’t really matter in life somehow are priority.

TRL was a great program that embodied some of my favorite things – music and to be exact – mainstream music, Suchin Pak with the daily news, DJs like Damien Fahey and Hilarie Burton, and of course celebrity guests. Today BuzzFeed reminded us that even though TRL was cancelled long ago, there will forever be proof that it existed in the form of the show’s photo booth evidence.

Amanda Bynes has retired from acting

I think Amanda Bynes is someone that I think is great on screen. If she just stayed in movies and television, that would be perfectly alright with me. However, hearing news about her in “real life” makes her likability decline. Fast. There. I said it. I don’t like her attention status Twitter updates about her having a huge crush on Drake. I don’t like the Tweet above and I don’t like her Snooki tan in tacky Herve Leger dresses. This doesn’t mean I think Herve Leger dresses are tacky. They are just not as classy when she wears them.

Let’s not end on a bad note Amanda. Let’s instead recap your best days with my favorite work from you.

Easy A

The trailer could have been a lot better, but I adore Emma Stone’s work.

Cast also features: Lisa Kudrow, Amanda Bynes, and Penn Badgley.
