AMC will host Harry Potter Marathon

Harry Potter is coming to an end soon and it’s unrealistic for me to believe that I can remember every single plot line that has happened over the years. Luckily, AMC has got a solution for that! I’m not exactly sure if reading all seven books would be faster than watching all eight movies, but it would certainly be more entertaining. AMC is offering a special deal that includes the eight movies in four nights for a ticket that costs $40.

To make things a little bit easier, the theater has broken up the films to showing two movies each night starting Monday, July 11th. To see all of the participating theaters, click here.

Kiernan Shipka on now being allowed to watch the show she acts on

Kiernan plays young Sally Draper on AMC’s hit show Mad Men.

“I’m not allowed to watch the show. My mom will tape it and then show me the scenes she feels are appropriate. […] I’m very method when I’m on set. It’s just kind of thinking the thoughts of Sally, and I pretty much just become her. It’s a character that I’ve known for a really long time, so it’s pretty easy. […] I don’t think she’s a bad kid at all. She’s going through a rough time. Don is absent and Betty has never once catered to Sally’s emotional needs, so I feel that they’re not the best parents.”

AMC Crime drama set in Seatte – not filmed in Seattle

I don’t know why it is, but I get so pumped when I hear of television series or movies filming in Seattle. The idea of it is exciting to me! I’m sure that’s how most people feel when something big comes to their hometown – except for Hollywood. That is as likely as rain is in Seattle.

The same network that brought you Mad Men, AMC,  is creating a new crime drama set in Seattle. “The yet-to-be-titled crime drama “is based on the wildly successful Danish television series ‘Forbrydelsen’ and tells the story of the murder of a young girl and the subsequent police investigation,”

The cast and title for the show have not yet been released, but the filming will begin in Vancouver this fall. The show is set to be released sometime in 2011.

Seattle’s Cinerama Goes On Hiatus for Two Months

Beginning August 30th, the Cinerama will shut down for two months while they undergo renovations. Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, purchased the cinema 12 years ago, but recently made the decision to release AMC from their management. Since the Cinerama was built back in 1963, Paul Allen plans to add digital sound and allow the theater to support 3D capabilities.
