Justin and Hailey Bieber x Vogue

Like the rest of the world, I was completely shocked when this cover story came out. It’s no secret that Justin and Hailey have been together for some time now so this wasn’t breaking news. How they ended up together after a whirlwind romance though was. It felt like we were in this ongoing back and forth between Justin and Selena for years. Then out of nowhere, Hailey swooped in to become his wife. While their romance seemed fast, they’ve actually known each other for years. To be honest, we don’t know that much about her. She isn’t quite the media star that we know other celebrities to be. And while she does come from a famous family, Hailey is quite elusive. It has actually served her well! It makes us think that there must be something pretty special about her if she can tame down a firecracker like Justin.

The cover and shoot is shot by famous photographer Annie Leibovitz and highlights what life with the Biebers are really like. I found their photoshoot to be quite endearing actually.

Is it just me or does this photo feel a little bit out of place than the rest? It’s candid sure, but not the best of the both of them.

Michelle Obama – Jason Wu style

As predicted Michelle Obama is gracing the cover of Vogue’s March issue. There had been speculation for quite a few months but it’s not really any surprise. Obama was shot by Annie Leibovitz from the Hay-Adams Hotel in downtown Washington DC, wearing yet again another Jason Wu design.  For a fresh 26 year old designer, Wu is certainly getting a lot of applause lately especially since Obama also chose his design for the innaugaration ball. Michelle gets my vote for the best dressed first lady um… ever? I can’t wait to see what she wears next!

She’s Just Being Miley

You would think that after everything Little Miss Miley has gone through with her suggestive pictures popping up on the internet, her controversial photo shoot with photographer Annie Leibovitz, her annoying YouTube videos and her questionable relationship with model Justin Gaston (who we know is really only a model because he is linked to Miley) that she would stop “freaking shit up” already.

The OCA, a national organization in the US that promotes Asian American Advocacy went public today in announcing that they, “[want] Miley and everyone to know that this image falls within a long and unfortunate history of people mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent.”

George Wu, the group’s exec director says:

“Not only has Miley Cyrus and the other individuals in the photograph encouraged and legitimized the taunting and mocking of people of Asian descent, she has also insulted her many Asian Pacific American fans. The inclusion of an Asian Pacific American individual in the photo does not make it acceptable. OCA hopes that Miley Cyrus will apologize to her fans and the APA community for this lapse in judgment and takes the opportunity to better understand why the gesture is offensive.”

… Way to go Miley. And although I may be biased, I would have to agree with the OCA on this one. I do find this offensive as well :/ She should really just know better, especially with her being in the public eye… every day.
