Ben & Jerry’s “Anchorman” Flavor

To promote the return of Anchorman, the creators behind Ben & Jerry’s have launched a new flavor called “Scotchy Scotch Scotch” to pay homage to character favorite Ron Burgundy.

The sweet treat features a decadent butterscotch ice cream flavor with a ribbon of gooey butterscotch, and a name that hails from a famous scene in the movie where Ron Burgundy downs a glass of scotch right before he goes on air.

The Anchorman sequel will hit theaters December 20th, but you won’t have to wait for the film to be released to try the new flavor. “Scotchy Scotch Scotch” will hit stores in just a few weeks.

Ben & Jerry’s New 2013 Flavors

As much as  I love my desserts, I am not someone who has a constant sweet tooth. Growing up, I never had dessert with every meal and to this day even – I still find it strange that people do! It’s just not something that I was ever used to. However, the other day Kevin came home from the grocery store with two Ben & Jerry’s and I couldn’t help, but be just a little bit excited. For 2013 Ben & Jerry’s are introducing a few new flavors to their roster: Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz, Chocolate Peppermint Crunch, Pineapple Passionfruit, Vanilla Honey Caramel, and the one I’m most excited about – Candy Bar Pie. YUM.

Ben & Jerry’s “Taste the Lin-sanity” Controversy

In an attempt to coin their new flavor last week, Ben & Jerry’s released a new flavor called “Taste the Lin-Sanity” without a whole lot of thought as to how people might react to it. The original flavor was a vanilla frozen yogurt w/ lychee honey swirls and fortune cookie pieces. As you can imagine, the controversy started because of the fortune cookie pieces. All offensiveness aside, I actually would want to try that flavor because it sounds good, but Ben & Jerry’s realized their wrongdoing and quickly replaced the fortune cookie pieces with waffle cookies claiming that the fortune cookies got too soggy.

The creators still released an apology for the idea of even including fortune cookies anyways:

“We offer a heartfelt apology if anyone was offended by our handmade Lin-Sanity flavor,” they said in a statement.
