Reimagining Editorials in COVID Times

Julien Tell

As states begin to open up and we make our way into the world, thinking about fashion is a trip. How do I even begin to wear real clothes again when I live in the same leggings three days in a row? Is there a correlation between your outfit and the face mask you are wearing? These are questions I never thought I’d ask myself. [High Snobiety]’s photographer [Julien Tell] spent part of his quarantine capturing what the new normal could be like in Berlin and ultimately the rest of the world. Since we’ve already been living this, it doesn’t feel that jarring does it?

Snaps for A Snapshot

Who: Nicola Peltz

Wearing: Stella McCartney bodysuit w/ a Dolce & Gabbana lace skirt.

Where: “Transformers: Age of Extinction” press tour in Berlin, Germany

We don’t normally feature someone for “Snaps for a Snapshot” nearly twice in one month, but when you dress as well as Nicola Peltz, how could we not?! The 19-year old has definitely caught our eye while on her tour promoting her recent film and while we hear the film isn’t really good, she’s totally nailing it with her outfits on the red carpet. I love how she paired a skirt with this body suit and kept it classy. The cutouts on the side add a little sexiness to this all white outfit.

SoundCloud’s New Berlin Office

In my previous job, I dreamed of the days when I would no longer have to work in a cubicle. Even when I was in finance, I had the privilege of working in an open desk environment. I could literally see nearly every person within my view on my floor. There were no offices for VPs, managers, or the CEO and the reason for that being was because they wanted to establish some kind of equality and a platform for people to be able to share and receive feedback and foster open communication. Cubicles don’t really do that. In fact, all they do is make people hide. I’m super fortunate now that I am back to that open environment again. Before my company moved into the office we are at now, they actually stripped away all of the carpet, broke down a few walls and reconstructed the entire two floors that we own to make it something even better.  So when I learn that other companies are basically doing the same, you can bet that that will catch my attention. Take a look at SoundCloud’s new office in Berlin:

The Painted Road

A visually pleasing display of art was cast over the streets of Berlin. 13 gallons of water-based paint were poured into the busy intersection of Rosenthaler Platz. Even though this act was planned by a bunch of cyclists, it took cyclists, drivers, and pedestrians to create this marveling piece.

The paint was harmless though and would simply wash away with water. I’m sure if someone tried to pull this off in the states, people would just get pissy. We live in a world where people see more things as inconveniences than beauty.

Unurth

Something that I find completely underrated is street art. The best part about them is that you never know when you’re going to find a piece. At least for me, I always feel like it comes out of nowhere.

Now you can go to a place where street art is collected in photographs. Unurth I hope one day I can go to one of these places and actually spot out a piece. I love that I believe that art defines a great part of my life. I think I owe my dad for that one.
