BHLDN x Free People Bridesmaids

Given how long these two have been under the same parent company, I’m surprised by how long it took for this collaboration to come together. What I’m not surprised about however is their powers combined to create a magnificent and whimsical collection. It embodies qualities that belong to both brands – the elegance of BHLDN and free-spiritedness of Free People. As I begin to rack up weddings in 2021, I’ve started to think about how these collections have evolved. And given the overlap in the two brands, it has the potential to be wildly successful!

The collection was released May 10th and will range in pricing from $168-$398.

Here are just a few of my favorite looks and colorways:

Bridal Gown Snaps

No, it’s not for me! Before we jump to any conclusions, I have to say how fortunate I am to come on this ride with Elynn. Out of all of my friends, she’s the first that is giving me the most in depth look into this entire process. And of course, it’s completely different than what I originally expected. When it gets to be my time, I’ll be more ready than I ever was before! Not too long ago, I tagged along with Elynn’s Maid of Honor and her parents to see her try on dresses for the first time. It was a moment in which I thought just her parents would get emotional, but it was the opposite. It truly is an overwhelming (in the best way!) experience and breathtaking.

There’s no way to best describe it. If I could, it’s like watching your friend graduate into the best gown of her life though. You’re watching them transform right before your eyes. Dresses that hung lifeless on hangers in the store now are the most magnificent pieces you’ve ever seen. That’s what that’s like!

Anthropologie | Palo Alto

The new Anthropologie opened at Stanford Shopping Center this past winter and it was an event. The experience was both magical, stunning, and a little overwhelming. The store is clearly an upgrade from its last location on Alma because instead of only being one floor, it is two and massive. I had wanted to visit the store when it first opened, but instead waited until I was invited to their bridal event at BHLDN and brought Elisa with me. We spent nearly three hours there discovering every nook and cranny and not leaving any candle un-sniffed. At the end, we capped it off with dinner at Terrain, which was beautiful, but a little bit $$$. You’re going to love the photos though!

BHLDN x Sincerely Jules

Not too long ago, Julie Sariñana of Sincerely Jules, became ENGAGED! Her and her fiance Kevin captured their entire love story over Instagram and just like they fell in love with each other, we fell in love with them. We have no doubts at all that they won’t have the most amazing wedding ever because um, hello! Did anyone see her 30th birthday bash at Lombardi House?! Jules teased us recently with photos of her dressed in white and while our first guess was an engagement shoot, it actually ended up being a collaboration with BHLDN. Not a bad second choice, if you ask us. These photos are dreamy, loving, and everything we’ve ever wanted. <3

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/110899774]

Hello everyone! Happy Monday morning! I just realized that it has been nearly a month since we’ve had a Wedding Mondays video post, however, I suppose we make up for it in posts about weddings in general. I am thrilled to share with you all a refreshing video this morning though – after all, it has been awhile!

Kyndra and Trevor decided they wanted their wedding to embody these three themes: romantic, whimsical, and dreamy and wow – did they accomplish that. Their beautiful wedding in Texas looks like a boho-dream come true.

These bridesmaids’ dresses all come from Urban Outfitters, Free People, and Etsy! The bride’s dress is Anna Sui for BHLDN.

Enjoy! To view the rest of the feature, you can visit Green Wedding Shoes.

BHLDN Introduces Separates

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/125376578]

BHLDN is changing the bridal game with their new video introducing separates! As if Bridal Week didn’t get us excited enough, BHLDN is kind of making my feels skyrocket a bit. First off, how dreamy are these pieces? I love the idea that in this day and age we’re stepping back from tradition and brides everywhere are becoming less afraid to do something totally unique. This video touches on a few of those things:

1) Separates in general

2) mix and match pieceing and coloring

3) the little white dress

4) two looks in one

I recently viewed a wedding feature in which the bride did not only a first look with her groom, but a second look as well. In the second look she transformed from her big bridal gown ie) pulled off the skirt and unveiled a slimmed down reception dress. It was perfect.

Needless to say, we are very excited about what’s to come for BHLDN.

Get Married And Look Like Kate Middleton

Ever since Kate Middleton got married in that iconic Alexander Wang gown, brides-to-be everywhere have been lusting after similar styles. We’ve seen many imitations and gowns that have gotten close, but none have come as close as the new Lia Gown by BHLDN.

Designer Catherine Deane was inspired by an intricate piece of Victorian-era lace she found in an antique market in France when she dreamed up this breathtaking, timeless, and feminine gown. From the plunging neckline to the floor-skimming hem, scalloped edges and sheer sleeves sweeten the silhouette.

This gown embodies all elements that I love: the lace, the long-sleeve, scalloped edges. ugh! This dress is a dream and I can’t wait until the retailer showcases real brides wearing this dress in their Facebook feature Real BHLDN Brides.

Wedding Trend To Try: Headpieces

I have been dying to write this post all week, but was unable to find the time to do it until now. My friend’s best friend just got married a couple of weeks ago and when I sifted through the pictures, my jaw had dropped. Her friend – the bride – had pulled off one of the major wedding trends of the season – the head piece – and she looked absolutely gorgeous while doing so. When a bride gets ready for her big day, she’s wondering about what she’s going to do up top with her hair. She can choose to go with a veil,  a headpiece, hair accessories, or do nothing with it at all. A few years ago when I came across the dream wedding dress, that bride had been wearing a headpiece, and ever since then, it has always been in the back of my head.

So with that said and being re-introduced to the headpiece again – here are my favorite picks!
