A Blue Bottle Cafe in Tokyo

Meanwhile, Kevin informed me today that Seattle still has zero Blue Bottles. lol.

Blue Bottle opened a new location in Tokyo this fall and was designed by the team at Schematic Architects. This marks their 5th location in collaboration with Schematic and by coincidence, this new location in Nakameguro just happens to be right across the street from the former Schematic headquarters.

Blue Bottle’s Canned Cold Brew

I actually haven’t been drinking Blue Bottle for what feels like almost a year, but I’ve always loved how they are doing different things to brand themselves and set them apart. I used to love their little hole-in-the-wall stands in San Francisco and while I think their iced coffee in the carton is a little bit too strong for my taste, they are absolutely adorable. I haven’t seen these in the wild myself, yet, but I did see an Instagram of it today and they are pretty qt. Starting this month, they are now available at Whole Foods!

Dress – Brandy Melville / Birkenstocks

I really miss those days when it was super easy to get dressed for work and all I had to do was throw on a t-shirt dress, my comfiest sandals and head straight out the door. Only four more months until spring time! For now, it’s layers on layers on layers. I thought this Blue Bottle carton would make a fun prop for our shoot, but truth – I don’t actually like drinking Blue Bottle from the carton. I definitely prefer getting it fresh, but for working out of the city this is the best we can do! I think these cartons are a little too strong for my taste. Also, I couldn’t find the straws in our office so we had to dip into the Starbucks below to snag one. 🙁 Sorry!

A Visit to the Heath Factory

IMG_3117

Even though Mandi and I have been living in the Bay Area for almost two years now, there is still so much for us to explore so we typically save some time on the weekends for us to get together to do things that we love to do like hipster wedding expos, for example! This trip, however, was a very special one. Heath Ceramics was something that I learned about from my former manager when I first started working in California and a thing that I now find I should be working towards saving my money for! They are some of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever seen! Since Mandi is newly engaged and planning every aspect and detail of her wedding, we sort of decided (or I suggested) that she should DEFINITELY be putting these on her registry. There’s really no better time to be asking for these. We decided though that we needed to take a closer look though so we signed up for a free tour so that we could learn more about Heath and see the factory for ourselves.
