Entertainment Weekly recently gathered the cast of Boy Meets World for a reunion spread in their issue! How excited are we for Girl Meets World? Very. Click the cut for the recent photograph.
How excited are we for the Boy Meets World spinoff?! Cory and Topanga are back. They’ve got a daughter and she’s the most adorable little girl ever. Stills were just released for what we think could be the pilot of the episode and the cast is currently filming the rest of the season this summer.
Since we first heard rumors swirling about The Boy Meets World reboot, everyone was ecstatic. Will Topanga and Cory be back? Yes, they will. Will Shawn Hunter return as Cory’s best friend? We don’t know yet. What will Topanga and Cory’s daughter be like? We have no idea. We’re hoping a little bit of the both of them, but now we know what she DOES look like.
The gorgeous 11-year old Rowan Blanchard will play the role of Riley Matthews and it looks like “Girl Meets World” will be slated for the Disney Channel’s 2013-2014 schedule if all goes well!

32 Signs You’re Living in a Hipster Apartment… now how do I get my apartment this hipster?
A couple of weeks ago, my mother and I spent a whole afternoon watching Boy Meets World reruns on MTV 2. Weird, right? Out of all channels, it has to be on MTV 2. It happened to be the season where the whole gang was in college ie) the most annoying period of Cory Matthews’ life. Could he be anymore obnoxious? I don’t think so. Despite that hiccup, there was no doubting the success of the series. It practically made TGIF. It made my Fridays as a kid and you just couldn’t help but fall in love with the fact that Cory had it all: The best girlfriend and the best friend.
As I watching Boy Meets World, I couldn’t help but wonder if this return was coming back for a reason. Turns out that my blogging sources have some news that Disney Channel may be trying to revive the show into “Girls Meets World.” The series would focus on Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as the grown up Cory and Topanga and their pre-teen daughter.
- You shut off your Facebook. This seemed like the best way to send this to you.
And at ten years old…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KID!
cue Cory Matthews “…un-da pants!”
Bristol Palin’s acting skills. Lol.
Who allowed this girl to appear on this horrible television show. The acting just continues to get better with every episode I am sure.
Growing up, I watched enough episodes of Step-By-Step, Full House, and Boy Meets World to learn that a dinner and a movie equaled a date. Then again, that was over a dozen years ago. So what is a date now? I’ve read enough blogs to learn that a date today is something completely spontaneous and adventurous something not in the books. In fact, The Frisky has advised me to stray away from both a dinner and a movie. Don’t do dinners because you might get yourself into a situation that is unbearable and you can’t run out on a meal. Alternative? Do drinks or dessert instead. Don’t do a movie because there’s no talking involved. Duh!
Then time came for me to go on my very first date. We had coffee tea and hot chocolate at Stumptown. It lasted about an hour – a perfect duration of time for me – he paid [aww that's nice!] We had conversations about school, our hobbies, why we chose to go to Seattle U, the usual. He was a gentleman and super sweet.
After the date ended, I came back to report to my friends.
“How was your date?!”
“We went out to coffee at Stumptown, it was fun.”
“K – A coffee date isn’t a real date!”
“But… but … he paid! Why isn’t it considered a date?”
I decided to pose this question to my friends.
Yes, you can grab coffee with your friends and family, but what are the actual traits of a date and who makes them up?
“Hmmm I wanna say no. I feel like you would go on that to get to know each other better, but I wouldn’t say that is a date…more to find out if you actually like the person.”
“Yes! but its an intro date, not completely serious.
What do you think the traits of a date are?
…Interest as more than just friends one-on-one”
“I would say yes and no. It’s a casual place to get to know someone rather than going straight to the fancy restaurants etc.”
“Coffee is not a date. Coffee is like buddy buddy. Lunch is friendship, but dinner is a date date.” – wise words from my mother.
“If it’s just you and a guy then it’s more like a date I think, but not as serious.”
“I feel like it depends on the relationship that you have with the person. If it is someone you have known for a long time, I think its more of a way to catch up. I think that coffee with someone you are just getting to know is a date date cause its much shorter than dinner and you can make up something easier if you don’t want to stay with them after coffee.”
“I think it could be considered a date – if the man pays and you’re chilling at the coffee shop for a long while, chatting it up”
“Ummmm no, but it can because to guys coffee is a neutral thing to test the waters [and for girls] it is a nice way of guys playing with ones heart.”
Conclusion: Coffee dates are pre-dates. Most of my friends started off their responses with an “umm,” “well…” or “I think…” which means we’re all in the same boat here! There’s not really a definitive answer, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s also a lot of “It depends on the person/relationship” meaning it’s different for everyone. I’m not exactly right in my thinking, but I’m not wrong either.
(It was hard to find a relevant picture, but yes, that is a pad plastered onto her forehead.)
Beginning fall 2010, Columbia University in New York will install a new “gender neutral” housing policy available for anyone that is NOT a freshmen. YES! This does mean that guys and girls will be able to select each other as roommates.
My thoughts: If this is an equality issue, then I suppose I understand the university’s new policy. After all, couples of the same gender, regardless of mentioning that they are dating, are allowed to live together so why can’t heterosexual couples? Most of the people choosing to dorm with their significant other will be over 19 so this is allowed, right? At least you wouldn’t have to worry about your other roommate being sexiled from now on. I see the positives in this.
The only problem I see with this is what would happen if a couple were to break up. Awkward. I mean let’s face it, not everyone can be a Cory and Topanga. (And years later after remembering one of my favorite shows, I am now wondering WHY they named her Topanga.) I don’t think people are too young to make the decision of living with their significant other, but I hope that they are sure of what they are doing because it can be troublesome. If I had this option, I think I would still choose to live with my girlfriends maybe. This is my last year to dorm anyways and I can’t really imagine living with a boy.
What do you guys think?
