Cover of the Day

Obadiah Parker – Hey Ya

I probably listen to this cover on Spotify once a week, but I’ve actually never posted this so I had to share it with all of you. The first time I heard this was watching my favorite web series, Casual. And we all know how I feel about that series, don’t we? I know Sundays are typically saved for rest and relaxation so if you haven’t checked it out yet, now is the time to start. Seriously. You can finish the entire thing in a day (I do it once a year) and you won’t regret it.

Weekend Throwback:

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/17721680]

Yesterday evening, I spent my night revising a series that I could not be more of an advocate for. When I first watched Casual, it was coming in at a very pivotal moment in my life.  I was  transitioning into my senior year of college and I was transferring files over to my new laptop so I watched the entire series to pass the time. I’ve always learned a lot of important lessons from watching this series, and I’ve learned a lot more out of watching it last night more than one year later.

If I could give any of you the gift of something, it would be this series.

The Flip Side (Bar)

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5DkCJIqkgc]

Kevin brought these shorts to my attention  today, but it turns out I’m already familar since this is another production by Jay Diaz – ie) the one who brought us Casual: The Series. Remember that? My obsession from 2011?

Enjoy!

There are actually several more of these too in other situations other than just the bar so check them out on the YouTube page.

In Between

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/47705365]

Created from the producers and same director of Casual: The Series, In Between is the latest project to come out of Altermotion Pictures. This little teaser doesn’t say much, but if it is anything like Casual, then I know that I’ll love it.

Bree recently brought this new YouTube video to my attention featuring my favorite actors from Casual and done by the same director, Jay Diaz.

Enjoy!

CASUAL

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/41573616]

Remember when I was obsessed with a short series online called Casual this past fall? I thought it was the greatest thing I had ever seen and I passed it onto five of my close friends who also grew to love it. Casual is just a story about a boy and a girl who start out “casual,” but then become so much more. Their relationship blossoms into something more complex, but also something that surprises even them. The direction and the story line are incredible and I will talk about this forever and strive to pass it on to everyone I know. I actually just watched the entire series again last week. I also learned last week though that they were turning it into a feature film! I’m not sure if this will just include every episode put into the series or if it will include more footage, but nevertheless – I am excited for it.

You can watch the entire series here.

Favorite Event of the Year: Capitol Hill Block Party 2011

Two out of three days was just enough to make this festival not only the highlight of my summer, but the most memorable moment of the year. Who can turn down a weekend of great company, amazing live performances, free goodies, front row at Cults, stellar weather and meal breaks at all of my favorite restaurants just outside of the gates? You can’t.
