Chris Colfer is a Children’s Author

As if he wasn’t talented enough gracing us with his voice on the hit television series Glee, Chris Colfer can now add children’s book author to his resume. On July 17th, The Land of Stories, will be released including illustrations by Brandon Dorman.

Described as a “modern-day fairy tale,” the book will focus on twins Alex and Conner, who leave the real world behind and find themselves in a land where they come face-to-face with the fairy-tale characters — witches, goblins, trolls — they’ve always read about. Colfer says the book’s illustrator “made every detail come to life.

This is beyond precious. I can’t wait to start my own collection of children’s books someday including some of my very favorites from when I was a child. Growing up kind of makes you miss it.

2011 Golden Globe Awards

Chocolate brown and gold sequins are the perfect combination for this Golden Globe gown. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Olivia look this good! I also loved that she wore her hair down with her bangs since we are typically used to seeing it done up.

  • Chris Colfer winning his award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role and dedicating his award to those that have been bullied: “But mostly importantly [a thank you] to all the amazing kids that watch our show and that our show celebrates and are constantly told ‘no’ [by] people and environments and bullies at school, that they can’t be who they are or can’t have what they want because of who they are,” he excitedly told the room, adding, “Screw that, kids.” [Source] Seeing Lea Michelle cry during his speech almost made me tear up.

What does Glee Have Up Their Sleeves?

No, that photo is not a young Chris Colfer photoshopped next to the real one. The young kid who bares a striking resemblance to Chris is 13-year old actor Adam Kolkin. Glee is working on a new episode that will show the students in the club before they hit high school! Exciting! The episode is scheduled to be the seventh in the season, but they are still casting for younger versions for some of the characters.
