Chromeo – Jealous (I Ain’t With It)
I know this song has been out for some time now, but it only recently made its way onto my Spotify playlist and I am pretty much obsessed. It’s so catchy and such a great song to listen to when you’re getting pumped up and ready to go out or in my case just going to work. I’m also pretty sad that I haven’t seen Chromeo in a couple years and that they’ve been returning to Seattle a lot lately!

Out on the Town: 10/10
Mayer Hawthorne is performing with Chromeo tonight at Showbox Sodo along with Sammy Bananas! I’m pretty sure the show’s not sold out yet so you still have a chance of going. Chromeo is fantastic live (no surprises there!) and Mayer Hawthorne is the dreamiest dream boat alive. All of the performers are also extremely talented. If that’s not enough to make you go – then I don’t know what is. Just go. That’s all. You won’t want to miss this.

In Music Festival News…
Both Capitol Hill Block Party and Bumbershoot will be releasing their partial lineup on June 1st.
Capitol Hill Block Party has transformed from a 2-day festival to a 3-day and Bumbershoot will be celebrating their 40th anniversary.
On a sad note, we say goodbye to San Diego’s Street Scene. This is a let down on all levels because a) I love San Diego b) I was planning on going back for round two this summer and c) This was one of the best shows that I have ever been to regardless of my failed attempt to get on stage w/ the god that is Gregg Gillis. I still got to watch Holy Fuck, Matt & Kim, Chromeo, and Girl Talk. Best. Night. Ever.

RIP DJ AM
Unfortunately because I was out at the Street Scene Music Festival early this afternoon, I did not hear about DJ AM’s passing until Samantha had texted me about it and when it was reconfirmed during the moment of silence during Chromeo’s set. Like the boys of Chromeo said, DJ AM paved the way for dj’s all over and created a gateway. His presence will be missed, but his memories and his work will never be forgotten.
