BTS x Coca Cola

https://youtu.be/-kxyNtWKCe4

Army will never cease to amaze me. As soon as this advertisement was released by Coca-Cola earlier this week, fans of BTS jumped all of this. Somehow they immediately knew that the voice in this ad belonged to Jungkook and was then followed by the rest of the vocal line. There’s even a separate video that plays this song and identifies at which point each member is singing. This wouldn’t be the first time the group has done a beverage ad before, but you may notice that this tune is once again, all in English. Naturally, it is a bop and we need the full track now.

In The News… Companies Doing the Wrong Thing

We’re not even through the month yet and I continue to be frustrated with the type of news I see from companies and organizations that should know better. It’s the same old story. And I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. But when these pieces come out, it causes me to wonder a couple of things. Decisions aren’t made on the whim. Like many orgs, these decisions go up a chain of people for approval. This happens at startups and non-startups. The companies in question are massive organizations. Secondly, my next question is wondering who is in the room. How many people make these decisions and who do they represent? Because it’s clearly not their customers.

I could dive deeper into each piece, but it’s not worth the time – right now. For now, I want to put this out there and make it known and it’s likely we’ll have to circle back on this again. Here are the pieces in question:

A Lesson on Coke

I’m not sure what happened, but tonight I found this absolutely fascinating! Growing up, my family and I always had either Sprite or Coke around depending on what my brother and I were into at the time. I wouldn’t normally have it with every meal, but I did enjoy it every once in awhile. When I got to college, I had more options for drinks and never got a coke. I now have coke as an option for a drink every day at work and don’t touch it. Well, maybe I do once a month as a treat. It’s crazy how much one can of coke can have such a huge impact. I was never that good at science back in school, but still found this super interesting to read.

Thank you Huffington Post for the very educational lesson.

Coca-Cola Life

Coca-Cola has announced that they are launching a new brand alternative to the standard Coca-Cola with Coca-Cola Life. We’re loving the grasshopper hue, but what exactly does this mean? Coca-Cola life will apparently be sweetened with both sugar and stevia – a natural calorie-free sugar substitute. The new packaging will also be fully recyclable as it made with 30% plant materials. With half the calories of a normal Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Life will not only be efficient and just plain awesome, but healthier as well.  You heard me. Soda is healthy.

Unfortunately, Coca-Cola Life is only available in Argentina. So I guess we’ll be waiting awhile…

Hmm…The Sharing Can. It’s a cute idea and a cute advertisement, but at the end of it, don’t you just want a whole can of Coca-Cola to yourself? Just me? Maybe?
