Airbnb’s New Tokyo Office

Tech company, Airbnb, has opened up a new office in Tokyo and as you can already imagine, it’s stunning. Personally, I’ve never had a chance to visit their office in San Francisco, but have always heard that it is one of the best offices out of all the startup and tech companies in Silicon Valley and San Francisco so it’s no surprise that Tokyo wouldn’t follow suit.

The great thing about moving offices is that there are so many interior design ideas that you can incorporate to not only make your space visually pleasing to look at, but also efficient enough for productivity levels too. This is something that has become so important for offices in this day and age. While moving an office could open up new opportunities for designing, you may have to be extremely mindful of the process of office supply and equipment shifting. Whether it is a fresh look or a renovation over an already existing design. teams with experience in commercial office fitout should be able to offer the requisite service. However, extra attention may need to be paid to handling and shifting office equipment. That generally tends to be an area where undue expenses are incurred. Additionally, you can have a checklist of the whole approach with you that can help in streamlining the whole moving progression. You can also download checklist for the office relocation process on the internet that can come in handy. Coming back to interiors, no one wants to work in an office that is dull and boring because this won’t do anything for employee morale and so forth. So, these are both points that you need to take into consideration when thinking about office design.

For example, sites like https://www.3-form.com/materials/sola-felt have a wide array of sound-absorbing panels that come in a variety of colours to help soundproof and to decrease the overall noise of your office. They are great to look at and they will benefit your work-levels too, which is all the more important. As the Airbnb offices have always looked nice, it is very likely that they have incorporated something like this too to help make a difference to their new and existing offices, especially the one that has just opened in Tokyo.

At nearly 2,000 square feet, this office was designed to blend both “local and global cultures” which you can see throughout these photos.

Per employee feedback, the theme of nature is heavily incorporated throughout the new design, with the end result serving as a breath of fresh air from the city’s chaotic Shinjuku district outside. Staff members can dine in the light-filled café and reception area, follow wooden paths to the various meeting rooms, and remove their shoes and relax on the tatami mats peppered throughout the office.

Five Favorite Pins:

When I first moved into my place, I was completely set on building myself a little frame wall. After all, I had saved up these pins on Pinterest just waiting to do this and putting my ideas to work. When I lived in my studio, I had experimented with all sorts of decorating ideas. My first year, I was really into paper. I had put up a quote that I had seen once and cut the letters out of paper and taped them straight onto the wall. Straight elementary school. I think friends of mine thought it was a little bit weird, but I was completely excited about it because I had never decorated my own place or room before! The second year, I cut out a bunch of black cardstock that I was going to use as frames for photos, but then thought – let me see if I can do this alternatively and instead hung string over them and used clothes pins to hang photos over the cardstock. See what I did there? I had doublesided taped those cardstock pieces to my wall and when I moved out and took them down they ripped the paint off. Happy to say that I’ve upgraded now and am hopefully smarter at decorating! I’m working on adding to my frame wall tomorrow after my trip to West Elm so this post comes at a good time. Yes, I’ll be nailing things into the wall and I’m terrified, but here are some other ideas that I’m considering in the future if this current idea just doesn’t work out.

Seattle University’s New Library

It opened yesterday and it is now the most beautiful building on this campus.

My dear friend summed it up completely: “I just pooped my pants.”

The website has also received a little face lift as well. Check it out here! The pictures don’t do it any justice though.

A Collection Part 18

It’s time to transition out of August and into the fall that is September. Back to school – back to reality – back to dreams. I am so much happier w/ this collection post than the last one. These photographs are not as sarcastic as the last, but instead beautiful, inspiring, and more genuine.

Posh Rooms

I have never wanted to decorate any bedroom of mine. Even though it is my room, I somehow convince myself that it’s not worth the time or that it’s not important. I’m too lazy to paint a wall or four, and I don’t want to buy furniture to fit the theme of my room.

Decorating is expensive in both time and money. Don’t get me wrong, I love decorations, and I like seeing things put together. I guess this is where Posh Rooms come in. The service is perfect for everyone who has the same mindset as I do.

The company, lead by Monique Breaux, has designed 13 themed living rooms and 7 bedroom options. Each come with carpet, furniture, artwork with a flat rate.

Polaroid Scarves

I can’t wait until the day I am living in my dream house and have total control of how I’m going to decorate it. Today, I found one addition that I would like to be a part of my dream house: the Polaroid scarf.

These photographic scarves are made by French designer Philippe Roucou. I kind of wish I could buy all of them so I could design a room with just these scarves on the wall… They are part of his new series entitled objets trouvés (found objects.)

Forever 21 continues to take over the world

Forever 21 will always be my go-to place. I’ll admit, I love their cheap prices because after all I am a poor college student but I always feel a little guilty if I’m close to buying something that’s a total knockoff of a designer piece.

The store is now planning on launching a home collection! The line will begin debuting later on this year in their largest stores. Pictures and details haven’t been released yet, but as you can imagine, they will probably be very trendy and rather disposable? Like their clothes? Let’s hope not, I wouldn’t want my furniture to fall apart!

Watch out!

I might just do THIS to your dorm next year.

Prepare to get “hoff’d!”

Just kidding… like I would actually have the time and patience to do this.

No more of the “okay get F@ck of my house now” bit

MTV Cribs is in it’s 2347398 season and they’ve gone through so many stars they’re showcasing off normies. Normies that are teenagers younger than me who were born into incredible houses.

I’m over it, kind of like the rest of the world?

Todd Selby is an amazing photographer who has decided to bring to you “cribs” in snapshot form. Not only do you get to see most of the home and office of photographers, artists, musicians, celebrities and tv personalities, but you get to see them in their actual environment.

Here are some photos of fashion designer Chrissie Miller’s place!
