20 Favorite Posts!

It is a tedious and challenging task having to go through all of your posts in one year to weed out your favorites. Something… I don’t really want to ever do it again. BUT it’s important that I share with you my favorite 20. Over the course of this year, some posts have made it to the top [or the front page of WordPress] that I really don’t think are all that deserving of that title. I like all my posts of course, but there are some that I believe, have a larger message. There are some that I put a lot of time into working on that receive no attention at all. Yet, the whole world cares more about Dora the Explorer, Megan Fox, and the new Tinkerbell. So I’m allowing you all to see my favorite posts again resurfaced! These are for the most part in no order – I don’t have time to truly give them a number ranking.

20. New Directions

Why: If you don’t know where to look, you will never find it. Believe it or not, men care about their appearances just as much as women. Maybe they won’t admit, but that’s okay. I’m not asking you to. I wanted to highlight some well made websites and blogs  for men that focus on dress and lifestyle. It’s okay to want to look good. 🙂

19. Life as a Seattlelite

Why: One of my best friends Jeanette reminded me this past summer that it is always important to explore where you are from. I’ve lived in and around Seattle my entire life and I can safely say that no experience is the same. People from Seattle don’t know this, but there is so much more  than downtown and the Space Needle and Seattle Center. There are various neighborhoods – each a part of the city, but with its own individual personality. That day, we explored three prominent locations in the Seattle area: Pike Place Market, Gasworks, and the Fremont Troll.

Trick or Treat no more

If I were under the age of twelve, I would buy THIS to hold all of my candy.

Halfway Mark!

My project for the year is halfway done!! I have 5 ish months to go until I have successfully kept my blog alive for one year.

Will I continue the blog after this year is over? I have no idea haha I won’t really be able to determine that until I’ve reached the end.

I just wanted to share some statistics slash facts with you all.

–  I never wanted to name this blog “Yow Yow!” When I first started, I didn’t have a title for the blog so I put that saying in there temporarily thinking I would change it later but I forgot. I actually credit that saying to Miss Sokina.

– I have worked with one marketing company since the creation of this blog and have entered one contest.

– I have had 34,357 visits to Yow Yow!

– 711 Posts, 307 Comments and 1,907 Tags.

– All of my headers are shot by Mark Hunter of The Cobrasnake and I change them monthly.

– I have had one heated scandal on my blog – The revealing of Dora the Explorer’s new look. Who knew that would be so controversial?

– It was also my top post – “Dora Grows Up. Gets Sexier While Doing So.” (10,351 views)

– In the month of June, I had 10, 603 hits, my highest yet.

– My busiest day was March 9th 2009 in which I had 1,862 views

– My blog does not count my own visits.

– – – – – – – – –

I guess all I have to say is thank you! I never expected this blog to reach any outside sources. When I created it I thought it would only be for my friends back home and at Seattle University, but I’m excited about the attention it is receiving and I’m having a lot of fun while doing it. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask and I’ll answer them in a blog post.

Thanks again!

Dora grows up. Gets sexier while doing so?

This fall Mattel and Nickelodeon plan on launching a new look for Dora the Explorer. For two years, we have known the little girl with the signature hair cut, purple backpack, and a t-shirt and shorts get up, but it looks like that girl is growing up! Both companies have agree on a decision to “sexify Dora.”

Yeah… you heard right. SEXIFY. DORA the Explorer. A show for young preschoolers… Doesn’t really make sense to me but I’m curious to see what the new Dora will look like.

I don’t think she will really look like this, someone just made this but I thought it was funny anyways.
