It was such a treat to return back to Seattle University yesterday evening for the 3rd annual Quadstock Unveiling Party. It always feels like home coming back there and being with the family I once worked and seeing the event I created continue on. I am so proud of both Maddison and Evan who have worked incredibly hard this year and honestly – no one can really understand what that’s like unless you’ve been in their shoes. I hope everyone is excited about the lineup and will attend because it is going to be an amazing show.
Having started my career in music and non-profits, Noise For Needy is an event that I am happy to get behind every year. The initial lineup was officially announced and it is packed with artists and bands that have so much potential. This year’s festival will take place in Ballard venues starting June 20-23rd and all proceeds will benefit the Ballard Food Bank. Below is the initial lineup, but if you’re an artist that still wants to fill a spot, please email booking@noisefortheneedy.org
I’ve pretty much come to terms with the fact that I may never attend Coachella. It’s a sad fact, but it’s the sad truth about my bank account. Luckily, I’m not alone. Thankfully, the organizers of the festival understand our woes and have once again allowed Coachella to be streamed live. So um…that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend starting at 3PM on Friday on their YouTube channel. I know it’s not the same experience and that this year I’m not even watching it for research on booking artists and purely just for enjoyment, but it’s music nonetheless and it is simply what I love.
I went to my first event hosted by Seattle blogger Cassandra Lavalle of coco + kelley yesterday with my co-worker and had a fabulous time. Additionally, it was my first time stepping foot into West Elm, which is pretty much heaven for a designer. I found myself wanting every little item and dreaming about my future home in which it could be furnished entirely by West Elm. I even came across the popular desk used by many of the bloggers that I idolize. It’s $300, but that’s okay. Someday, it could be mine!
The event was on entertaining guests and setting up parties for the upcoming spring/summer season. I loved this set up above because of the primary color theme and the spice rub takeaways for guests!
After the event, Toby and I decided to continue on with celebrating our Wednesday and went out to dinner at Tilkum Place Cafe – my first time! I actually worked with the restaurant before while in college when I had them sponsor an auction that I was working on, but I had never tried it before. Our first footstep into the restaurant was pretty much what sold us! We shared the clams (the special!) as an appetizer and Toby ordered the Savory Tart while I had the Roasted Vegetable Salad. It was the perfect meal for our Wednesday celebration and…just because!
I’ve always loved participating in this every year! Seattle food and Seattle restaurants never cease to amaze me. Start making dinner plans and making dinner dates now! For the full list, click here.
Hey readers, if you love free stuff as much as I do, then I’ve got a treat for ya! To celebrate the Mariners’ opening day this coming Monday, Cupcake Royale will serve you up a free scoop of ice cream if you are donning a Mariners’ hat or jersey. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me! Have you dessert first and then head on down to the game y’all.
Happy CHBP Premiere Party! Even though we’ve already heard word of the partial lineup, I wonder if they will be revealing more artists at this event. If not – hi! Pickwick will be there. That’s wonderful in itself. For more details click here. Also, when did Neumos re-do their website? I suppose it has been awhile since I visited, but I am loving the minimalist vibe it has and the easier navigation.
The 4th of July fireworks show in Seattle has officially been cancelled and it is a sad day for all. I was out of town last year for the 4th, but nearly every year, I’ve always sat on top of the hill in Kirkland to watch the show. I’m direction impaired though so I wouldn’t be able to tell you if I was watching the Seattle or Bellevue show from where I was. Regardless, many locals celebrate with this event every year and it saddens me to hear that it just won’t be happening because of lack of funding. This year, the $500,000 show came up short in corporate sponsors and that is the reason why it has been cancelled.
One Reel has spent the past nine months trying to raise money for the 4th of July tradition. Despite a major fundraising campaign in March, the group only received $55,000 in donations. Stone said everyone who made a contribution will get a refund.
I’m still waiting on the official poster, but for now – the lineup video and lineup below!
