The Last Fall Ball

There is no better way to go out than to have your last Fall Ball at the beautiful Seattle Art Museum. Attending Fall Ball has always been a special memory for me ever since I was a wee little freshman and since then my experience with Fall Ball every year has differed significantly. As a freshman, I had one of the best times ever with my five girlfriends. In my sophomore year, I became Fall Ball Chair. In my junior year, I selected the venue for it and in my senior year I straight up just worked it. I’ve learned a lot of lessons throughout the years, but the one vital thing I learned came from Kevin E.

“A girl that walks into Fall Ball inebriated no longer has a great looking dress on. Instead, she is making that dress look 10x worse because of her intoxication.”

Okay, he probably didn’t say it like that, but it was close enough. And it makes perfect sense. I can’t tell you how many dresses I saw ruined last night because a girl was sloppy. When girls are drunk, they have no idea that their dress is shifted to one side, that their body-con dress is now up to their crotch region or that their liquid eyeliner is smeared ALL OVER their face. I’m really glad that wasn’t me last night because I made this dress look damn good. And that is all I have to say about that.

Thank you so much to everyone that came out last night! We hope you had a great time. Thank you also to the wonderful staff at the SAM as well as the security and the lovely staff that I got to work alongside with.

UPDATE: Also a very special thank you to Stefani my plus one for the night. Thank you for bringing me the lovely rose. Though I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with all my friends, it meant the world to me to see you all dressed up and dropping in to say hi to me, asking me how I was doing, or even offering to help me (I’m talking about you Mathew Lane) as well as those that did help me prior (Jodie Dodie.) I’ve got some great people in my life 🙂

Happy Friday For Me

Oh don’t you know you’re alive – Phantogram – “Don’t Move”

Good morning everyone! The increase in posts lately are to compensate for my lacking this weekend. It’s Fall Ball weekend! And also, I’m going to try not to post much over the holidays and get some actual real work done. Enjoy your Thursday!

Because Anything Is Better Than School Right Now

It’s that time again! I’m on the hunt for the perfect Fall Ball dress to my senior year! woweewow.

I’ve done the body con. I’ve done the one shoulder.

What trend will I wear this year? Sort of leaning towards subtle cutouts right about now.

I Go To School

On the night of my Fall Ball event, Seattle University hosted the “For the Difference We Make” Gala. I just came across this video today and I know this post is well overdue, but check out this video. It’s amazing. I remember Annemarie had asked me if I wanted to be in it, but my schedule always interfered with the filming schedule. It’s still cool to recognize familliar faces within it though. If this video doesn’t make a high school senior want to come here, then I don’t know what would. It truly defines Seattle University and reminds me of why I go here in the first place. And I don’t mean to say that in a cliche way or as a way to plug my own school. If anything, I’m more attracted to how this video was designed!

Earlier tonight, I was talking with my friend Tina about how much Seattle University has changed over the years. We’re now remodeling our library, we are building a new residence hall for upperclassmen by my senior year, remodeling our gym. We have a new admissions and alumni building and are creating a building for the law school. We are now in Division I in athletics. It’s no secret that our school is expanding further into the city. I’m excited to see where Seattle University will be in the next couple of years.

PS Gladys Knight performed at our GALA! If I didn’t have Fall Ball, I would’ve have totally gone to see her.

Fall Ball ’09

fall ball fish bubbles

This year, I had the opportunity of being a part of a great organization, Student Events and Activities Council (SEAC) planning Seattle University’s annual Fall Ball dance! Kind of a different change from the usual concert planning, but it’s going to be a great event and we’re all very excited for it.

Seattle University students: This is FOR YOU, and you don’t want to miss it.

Tickets $10 at the CAC and at our table tonight in C-Street from 5-7PM – – – – $12 at the door

Transportation is provided from the school to the Aquarium starting at 7:30 at Pigott.

Here’s what we have to offer.

  • A free sea otter show for the first 150 people to arrive for the show at 8:30 PM
  • Open exhibits allowing you to explore the Aquarium. Usually it would cost $16, you’re getting a deal.
  • 21+ area in the underwater dome
  • An awesome photobooth w/ USnaps. They will upload all pictures taken from the event onto their website and using the given code, we will be able to access all pictures within 24 hours online. What up new Facebook defaults!
  • DJ provided by The Sound Factory
  • An opportunity to dress up semi-formal style (a rare treat at Seattle U) Girls will be looking their best in their dresses and guys will be lookin’ fly!!

The Aquarium is a beautiful space, so please come take a night off away from campus to join us.

Frequently asked question of all time: Can you bring a guest that is a non-Seattle University student?

Katie’s answer: Every Seattle University student is allowed to bring one non-Seattle University student. Please have your guest bring one form of ID with them if they are under 21 ie) license/passport. If your guest is over 21, they must bring two forms of ID (license/passport)

Reminder: Read the back of your ticket, there’s text there too!

A few things to remember before you leave for Fall Ball:

No bags. Girls will be allowed to bring clutches

Seattle University students must bring their ID

We reserve the right to deny admittance to or remove anyone who appears intoxicated to the point of ridiculousness or goes against the code of conduct. STAY CLASSY. Do not embarrass our school. The Aquarium is a great space and we would like to remain a great relationship with them.

No vomiting. It’s disgusting. We’ll make you clean it up.

“No one understands it more…”

I came across Danity Kane – Damaged tonight

Yeah… that song is kind of old now. In fact, probably the last time I heard it was when I was dancing to it on top of the speaker at Fall Ball. I said to Michael, “I’m actually really sad that Danity Kane broke up.” There were probably only three songs that I liked off of both of their albums combined but what I loved most was Aubrey and Aundrea on Making the Band together and their little friendship. It was my favorite part of watching !

Then Aubrey went crazy always making out w/ her dog in photos, posing for Playboy and dressing unclassily. It’s too bad Danity Kane is no more but I’m even more sad for Auburella… and the fact that those two aren’t friends anymore.

Anyways, this video will always be my favorite.
