Gap & GQ Produce Men’s Collection

I must sound like a broken record about this by now, but nothing – and I mean nothing – makes me swoon harder than a well-dressed man. Guys – I’m trying to help you out here! In fact, the whole world is trying to help you out here. Take it from all of the women around you. You ask us why we are so happy all the time? It’s not because we just dress well; it’s because dressing well makes us happy people.  (And happy people just don’t kill their husbands) Hi, Legally Blonde reference.

Anyways, Gap and GQ recently came together to produce a men’s capsule collection that is both stylish and affordable. If you’re not chasing this down Sept 27, then you don’t have your priorities straight. Check out the rest of the collection at the source below.

1969 Lightweight Cropped Legging Jeans

After saying goodbye to my BDG ankle cigarette white denim pants at the end of this past February, I thought that it would be impossible for me to find another pair that I would grow to love and that would actually fit. The impossible has been done. When I thought of replacing the white denim pants that I had before, I assumed that I would go back to BDG, but this past Saturday I found the perfect pair at Gap! These are definitely a lot more white than the ones I had previously, which can be nerve-racking, but I suppose I can live a little, right? The prices were relatively similar and the fit on these Gap ones are a little more classic and a little less hipster.

Is my style evolving once again? Only time will tell.

Easter Monday

Seattle blessed us with yet another sunny day so of course I decided to take advantage of it because who knows how long this will last! Since I was a kid, pink and purple have always been two of my favorite color combinations. I’ve never actually paired these two pieces together until today, but somehow it ended up working out. Since I was worried that the pink and the purple might be a little bit overbearing, I decided to tie it all together with a pair of white denim pants and neutral colored flats borrowed from my mother that now pretty much belong to me.

J. Crew switches out their hairy looking tights

It was just a couple of days ago that I posted about J. Crew’s controversial lace tights that made their model look like she preferred the au naturel look. I’m beginning to realize just how much brands take to their customer’s criticism. Also, it’s important to note that the feedback has been coming in strictly from the internet through social media websites and blogs. Many customers were not a fan of the way the lace leggings looked causing J. Crew to respond by simply switching them out with another pair. There won’t be any speculation with the new tights because they look like tights.

Gap recently caused some controversy in the same boat when they released their new logo and after a number of negative responses from everyone all over the internet, they changed it back.

Kudos to people like us for having the ball in our court! I don’t know how I feel about having such power.

The People’s Choice

When Gap released their new logo last week, fans of the retailer were enraged. Gap saw the design as an opportunity to grow and a chance to take themselves in a new direction, but customers were not ready to let go of the classic. Almost instantly, bloggers, Facebookers, and writers based the new logo resembling bad clip art.

Today, they caved and ditched the new look. As their president put it, “All roads were leading us back to the blue box.”

Owned.
