Guys in Suits

Can I speak candidly here for a moment? Is that okay? Well, it is my blog after all so I guess I can do whatever I please, but I’m about to make a bold statement: There is nothing sexier than a guy in a suit. Those girls who prefer cowboys in cutoffs/sleeveless plaid shirts that shouldn’t be sleeveless, or those girls who prefer bros in bro tanks and neon shorts or swim trunks worn out of the water gtfo. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Please, for a second, let’s just appreciate a man in a suit. That tie clip, the skinny tie, the crisp fitted look of a suit that fits a man in all the right places. Now, how are you going to tell me that you are going to turn that down? Unless the personality underneath that is kind of douchey then maybe, but that might not be the case here. The other day I was having a conversation with someone who asked me if I was the type to work in a professional setting that preferred the pant/skirt suit or the business professional attire. And to be honest, I never thought I was going to be that kind of a girl, but after being in that environment for the past several months, I will say that I felt GOOD about the way I looked when I went to work. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I generally believe that you should always feel good about yourself on a daily basis – if not every minute of the day! I liked wearing my heels and walking up and down the streets of Seattle alongside other working professionals everyday. I endured the Seattle summer heat by wearing blazers paired with the rest of my outfits and I enjoyed making up new combinations with my colored cardigans and fitted skirts. You know what I realized though? That feeling is mutual. It’s not just me. It’s other working professionals and men alike – hence this blog. Guys in Suits.

Yes, it is easy to resort to sweats (I don’t. I prefer leggings, thanks)  or a t-shirt and jeans, but when someone has the opportunity to dress up, they will take it. Guys love dressing up. Anyone who says they don’t is a) lying, b) feeling insecure about admitting it or c) has not had the opportunity.

If you’re a guy who is a c) – you just gotta make it happen. Going to a bar and meeting up casually with friends? Suit up. Going nowhere important and think wearing a suit for daily activities is overdressing? Who cares, do it anyways.
