Can you believe this girl used to be Hannah Montana?

There are so many great things about this video. Teddy bears. Pinatas. And this new character that Miley is turning into.

Remembering Television in 2011…

As some of you may have noticed, there wasn’t so much postage going on this past weekend. The reason for that is because I was recovering, but I also came across a post on Ohnotheydidnt about the television shows that ended this year. One of them – near and dear to my heart – was Greek. After reading that post, the only sensible thing to do was watch an entire marathon of the show starting from episode one throughout the whole weekend. So I didn’t write anything for Yow Yow, but I became reacquainted with a show I once loved and can still relive through NetFlix – thank goodness. It was a weekend well spent.

And now, here’s your second end of the year recap post of shows that I will personally miss.

Greek: July 9, 2007 – March 7, 2011

I was deprived as a college student from the Greek system and the only way for me to feel like I was not missing out on anything was to live vicariously through Casey Cartwright. This show is extremely special to me for reasons I can’t explain. These kids barely did any school work and their entire lives revolved around the Greek system social calendar. Naturally, I was envious. The show has taught me a lot about love and friendship and karmic synergy, but they all couldn’t stay in college forever. At some point, every one of them needed to graduate and it was at that point that I had to let them.

You’ll Always Be My Ollie Pop

There are some child stars that will be able to outgrow their old characters, but then there are some that can’t. Ladies and gentlemen, Hannah Montana’s best friend Mitchell Musso is one of them. Here are some new photographs of him trying to be his own person and shying away from “Oliver,” but failing. These pictures are not safe for life. Sorray. I’m also not going to spend the time posting the shoot onto my blog, so feel free to visit the source if you dare. I’m not gonna be held responsible for any nightmares you may have though.

Microsoft Celebrates New Store Opening in Bellevue w/ Miley Cyrus Concert

If you’re trying to figure out what Microsoft and Miley Cyrus have in common, you may not be able to wrap your head around it. I’m still trying to figure out why these two things are even in the same headline together. On November 18, Microsoft will open their new store within Bellevue Square, but they don’t seem too concerned with making themselves the center of attention. At 10 AM when the store opens, the first 1,000 people to visit the store will receive a pair of passes to an exclusive in-store concert with teenage sensation Miley Cyrus.

What. How BIG is this store?

I’m not going to lie, I freaked out a little bit. I’m not a huge fan of Miley, but I am a fan of Hannah Montana. Did anyone happen to catch the newest episode Sunday night? Not embarrassed to say that I cried at the end of it. Just sayin’.

Billy Ray…Forever?

Billy Ray Cyrus has wrapped up filming his daughter Miley’s Disney series “Hannah Montana Forever,” but that doesn’t mean he’s done with television just yet. The Syfy channel has approached him  for a new show that they are developing in which Billy Ray Cyrus and his son Metro Station wash up Trace Cyrus will travel on the road across the country seeking paranormal activity and investigating the mysteries behind them. The pilot will be produced by Peacock Prods. and will begin filming in just a few weeks.

“The existence of paranormal phenomena is something I’ve always wanted to explore further,” Cyrus said. “Getting the opportunity to take this adventure with my son, who has always had a keen interest in this area, is a dream come true. I hope this series can shine a light on some of the activities we have questioned, and the mysteries that have long inspired us.”

Laughable.

Song of the Day

Hannah Montana Ft. Iyas – This Boy, That Girl

Okay, before you pass judgment… it is a really catchy song. I don’t typically like Miley Cyrus, but I do like this song. It’s 10x better than “Can’t Be Tamed.”

Miley Covers Elle

My first thought was wtf. I know I know this is going to contradict my statement about loving Hannah Montana, but I’ve come to the realization that I do have a love/hate relationship with Miley.

I sometimes enjoy her music. She makes me laugh in her show. What I don’t like about her is that she can be obnoxious. A LOT obnoxious whether it is with interviews, on the red carpet, or with her gross looking wannabe MySpace pictures…

However, although she looks really really good on this cover, I’m not sure if Elle is right for her. But then I found this excerpt:

On her new clothing line with Max Azria for Wal-Mart: “The jeans are my favorite part of the entire line. Because, like, literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don’t have it available.”

…and then suddenly everything feels right again 🙂

He Could Be The One

I’ve been watching that Hannah Montana promo ALL WEEK on the Disney Channel. You know… where she’s juggling two boys and there’s that super catchy song playing “He Could Be The One.”

I’m not gonna lie… I do watch the show. I have her CD’s… hahha.

I missed her episode tonight so I just watched it on YouTube, but her two choices were:

Yeah…I definitely would’ve chosen the first one.

A movie showing that goes against norms

So I was reading the paper this morning at breakfast before geology – of course my favorite section “Northwest.” It now includes local and entertainment news etc all into one. In the corner of one page I read an article titled, “Sensory-Friendly” screenings which is about how AMC Entertainment and the Autism Society of America are joining together to show movies for people that are affected by the condition.  On Saturday morning, the AMC in Woodinville and the AMC theater in Kent will be playing the “Hannah Montana” movie at 10 AM. Instead of having the lights dimmed the lights will be up and the sound will actually be turned down a bit so the kids and families can dance, sing, stand or shout in the environment that will make them feel more comfortable. Tickets are $4-$6 but that will depend on the location.

I’m glad to hear that a theater I’m quite familliar with is participating in such a great cause.
