Holiday Gift Guide 2019

[Google Pixelbook Go] – $849

I’m not sure how we were able to start this gift guide before Thanksgiving this year, but it seems as if everyone had the same idea! The guides are out and it’s exciting to see what made the list. This past quarter, I’ve tried my hardest to be a bit more financially focused. In years prior, I’ve never had a budget when considering gifts for my family, but this year it’s at the top of my to do list. Finding the perfect gift for every family member is key, but if I did a bit of research on prices and deals, I’d also be doing myself a favor too. There’s no reason why we can’t have both, right? This year’s guide is covering gifts across all areas and at different price points:

[VSCO Annual Subscription] – $19.99

Five Favorite Holiday Treats

I’m not sure when Kevin and I started this tradition, but for the last few years we have somehow managed to acquire a ton of treats whenever we go home for the holidays. Kevin always likes to send a package that includes a variety of cookies and snacks all in different boxes, which is fun to open up. And this year, I decided to get into the mix by asking him to purchase a tin of popcorn for me with three different flavors (my favorite!) I might actually be the ONLY person that likes this though. Holidays are always for eating and I have no shame about my winter body during this time so let’s just get into this and discuss my five favorite dessert treats during these months!

1. It’s a weird holiday treat to be my number one choice, but it’s just how I feel! I love the idea of digging my hands into different flavors of popcorn and loving every single kind. White cheddar and cheesy corn for the win! I know some people really like the popcorn with chocolate drizzled all over it and the ones that lean on the sweeter side, but I was never a fan of those.

Reformation’s Latest Holiday Campaign

Holiday party season is just around the corner already and for the first time ever, it looks like I’ll be attending two! My company has decided to postpone theirs until early next year, but in December, I’ll be joining Eric and Mandi for theirs at the MOMA in San Francisco. Talk about an amazing venue! I learned a very important lesson a couple of years ago that there can be a time when it is too early to shop for a holiday party dress ie) 5 months before, but this time of year is the sweet spot. Elynn told me yesterday too that the good thing about having a holiday party after the new year means that all the dresses will be on sale!

In Reformation’s latest campaign, we found ourselves loving just about everything in the collection. Another thing to note in this campaign is that instead of using models, the brand tapped into a few successful businesswomen of our time. They may not be models by profession, but if we didn’t know that fact, we wouldn’t have even thought otherwise! I’m never NOT a fan of campaigns using real women and modeling amazing pieces.

Our Favorite Looks of 2016

Tank top – Abercrombie & Fitch / Chambray shirt – Madewell / Skirt – Brandy Melville

It’s way more fun to share your 12 favorite outfits from the year instead of the ones that just flopped, right?! We don’t always get it right, but luckily the shame of an outfit gone wrong usually only lasts a day. #blessed that my coworkers are always there to give me that immediate feedback. On the upside, I love the outfits that I’ve selected as my favorites for the year. We love that some of these outfits are ones that we’ve worn more than once and have recycled with other items from our closet to make them more versatile. And if there’s one thing that we appreciate more this year in these outfits than the ones we ended up hating – it’s that “less really is more.” Thanks Ma.

Kendall and Kylie x The Top Shop

The Jenner sisters have unveiled their second collection with Top Shop and I’m surprised I’m even saying this, but I’m pretty impressed with some of the pieces. Not only are they the things you want to wear for your upcoming holiday party, but there’s a whole lot of black – which means that it’s versatile and you can wear them over and over again for a number of occasions. We’ve always been a fan of re-wearing things from our closet.

The collection will be available online and in the UK on Friday, Nov. 20, as well as at U.S. Topshop locations and select Nordstrom stores worldwide on Dec. 4.

Out of the 15 piece collection, here are just a few of our favorites! – but actually that dress that Kendall is wearing above is just THE BEST.

How We Holiday Party 2014

Holiday party season is upon us and we’d be doing a disservice if we didn’t include a guide like we always do! I’ve only attended one work-related holiday party in my time so I don’t have too much experience. All I know is that last year, I wore a black dress with cut-outs and sheer fabric over the cut-outs. There were at least two other women at the party that wore sheer fabric so I felt like I had done right by being in the correct wheelhouse and theme. Having already purchased my holiday party dress for this year back in June and realizing that it is black, leather, and with a cut-out again, I’m noticing that maybe I’m just too much into a comfort zone. A holiday party is the one time out of the year where you get to try something different and even though I have my dress, I am still considering straying away from that. Here are some of my favorite picks for this year so far! Also, we’re doing this post a little bit earlier than last year so that you still have time to snag some dresses if you’d like!

Free People Black Dove Dress – $250

A Ceramic Christmas Tree

Even though I am without a Christmas tree in my home this year, I still love seeing photographs of very unique and alternative Christmas trees. This one found in Belgium was made from 5,000 donated ceramic dishes and cups. It’s kind of magical isn’t it? There should be more white Christmas trees in the world.
