Figured we could all use just a little bit of cheering up this morning after this weekend.
Even though I am without a Christmas tree in my home this year, I still love seeing photographs of very unique and alternative Christmas trees. This one found in Belgium was made from 5,000 donated ceramic dishes and cups. It’s kind of magical isn’t it? There should be more white Christmas trees in the world.
This may be the very first year that I’m becoming a little bit anxious about the gift giving this holiday season. As you all may have heard me say earlier this month, there’s another person that I’ll be shopping for this year and I haven’t got a slightest clue what they’ll be getting! This person had a birthday earlier this year and for their present, I gifted them a Birthday Box filled with goodies that I thought they would like and okay — stuff that I liked too! [Like The Lumineers album - who wouldn't want that?!] I always feel like there’s a lot of pressure on a gift though. The most wonderful thing about a Birthday Box or a gift set is that if you strike out with one thing, you have more than one chance to get it right. Boy didn’t enjoy the organic fruit snacks included in the box, but he did like the sugar jar filled to the brim with candy.
Just in time for the holiday season, Pinterest is unveiling their new feature: Secret Pinterest boards! It is perfect for saving potential gifts especially if you don’t want anyone else to see what you might get them. Each user will be allowed to have three “secret” boards that will be remain hidden.
“We hope that secret boards will make Pinterest even more useful,” Pinterest software engineer Evrhet Milam wrote. “You can use secret boards to keep track of holiday gifts, plan a special event, or work on a project you aren’t yet ready to share with the rest of the world.”
Unfortunately, you can only make your new boards secret and none of your previously created ones hidden since there is a chance that some of your pins have already been re-pinned.

There is nothing better than decorating a new space for the first time. That feeling that you have a blank canvas right in front of you and that you can do whatever you want with it. This beautiful holiday garland by one of my favorite Confetti System via West Elm will be a new addition to my room.
Christmas time year ’round y’all!
But seriously, the triangles are delicately shaped and the colors are too much fun.
While perusing for Halloween costumes earlier this week, I completely abandoned my original idea when I spotted a sparkly holiday dress from H&M. With no holiday parties even on the calendar yet, I figured I could somehow transform this dress into more than one use. Bye bye super hero costume, hello princess. Let’s be real though – I kind of gave up on celebrating Halloween altogether. As soon as I saw that dress in the store, I knew that I was only anticipating the holiday season even more. Lucky for me, in my inbox the next morning I received the holiday sneak preview from Urban Outfitters. To check out the full sneak preview, click here.
I am currently watching a movie on the Disney channel with a talking puppy. So much better than the Poo-Chi I was Christmas gifted with 12 years ago. I should probably be taking my weekend off early, but I think I can spread a little bit more Christmas and news before midnight.
So here’s a video of one of my favorite Christmas songs from the two stars of Victorious.
And by the way, have you checked out the Google page yet today?
Yow Yow! is much more into the Christmas spirit this year, have you noticed? During the holiday season, these are the four films that I watch pretty frequently and even though I don’t have it pictured, The Family Man is mine and Kevin’s favorite! There are way too many holiday movies though and many of them I’ve never even watched so I decided to ask friends of mine via Facebook to offer up their suggestions.
In case any of you are planning on having a holiday movie marathon…
I received such an overwhelming response! It was fun to get such quick feedback from everyone. Many of the suggestions were for Love Actually; I think my friends would either be shocked or disappointed in me if they knew that I had never even watched the film. They still show it on TV, right?
In addition to having a real job that I can call my own post grad, I am also looking forward to next year’s holiday parties! (I mean – we’re crossing our fingers that I’ll have a job post grad.) I’ll finally have a place to wear the holiday dresses that are collecting dust up in my closet. This holiday spread for Harper’s Bazaar is short and sweet, but they sure do make these parties seem like fun, don’t they?
The spread features Santigold, Lykke Li, Sky Ferreira, Charlotte Gainsbourg and more.
