Improv Everywhere: Conduct Us

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_cbnBak8RI#t=202]

Improv Everywhere is one of my favorite groups. They are the organizers behind some of the most memorable events in New York City including one of my all time favorites – Black Tie Beach! They are also responsible for Reverse Times Square and the infamous No Pants Subway Ride. “We cause scenes” is their motto and fortunately for us – they hold the drama. In their latest mission, Conduct Us – the organizers let random people in New York City conduct a Carnegie Hall orchestra and allow these individuals to live out their creative aspirations.

Blog Roundup:

I have been finding so many interesting things on the internet recently that I pretty much want to blog everything! I’d do that, but then you’d get 20 posts in one day and who has time for that? Very rarely has anyone watched me actually blog and even then I think it’s such a weird process. Maybe we can include that on the video blogs someday, Veronica? Anyways, today we’re already at 10 posts and I must confess to you all, I’ve got some blog projects I need to hit tonight! [More on that later] So laziness is about to occur and you’re gonna get a roundup of some of the best things that I came across on the internet today in one post!

Let’s go!

4. Want to know all of the songs that Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake are rapping in their “History of Raps?” SPIN has got you covered. I am adding these to my Spotify playlists as we speak.

5. Mariners’ game attendees this season are going to dine well. [Source]

6. I took the Bring It On quiz and scored 10/12. Not bad!

7. Steve Buscemi will direct Vampire Weekend’s live stream. That’s a collaboration we didn’t see coming! [Source]

8. View a slideshow of Seattle’s notable empty buildings. My favorite is where Amazon used to live. [Source]

Speak Now – Pro Wrestler Interruption

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoDMSsEg2l0&feature=player_embedded]

When Charlie Todd of Improv Everywhere married his girlfriend Cody Lindquist a couple weeks back, they received an unwelcome visitor at their ceremony. A pro wrestler showed up out of nowhere and initiated a fight with the groom that resulted in the groom winning the match. I think the chair hit may have done him over. It’s not your typical wedding story, but when you work with Improv Everywhere, you never know what to expect.

MP3 Experiment 2010

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVuVhcdQs0k&feature=player_embedded]

About a week ago I made a post about the MP3 Experiment that was happening in New York that day. Did anyone participate? Yes? No?

If you weren’t there, here is what you missed out on.

The MP3 experiement

If you’re in Time’s Square today, be a part of Improv Everywhere’s MP3 Experiment happening at 6:00 PM.

Have I mentioned how much I love these types of things as well as flashmobs?!

Anyways, to participate here’s what you have to do:

The organizers have the MP3 on their site [about 45 minutes long] and you’ll have to download that and then synchronize your watch to the time on the site so that everyone is on the same page. When you get to your location, you’ll be blended in among everyone, but that’s what makes it so cool! At the specified time, everyone will play the MP3 where you will be given instructions and then you get to watch everyone who isn’t participating be confused and amused.

Awesome.

Click here for the full details and the MP3, and here’s a clip from last year’s performance.
