What We’re Listening to This Weekend

Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! Justin Bieber has gifted us with the release of his newest album “Changes!” I know all of us loved “Purpose” and it’s hard to find another quite like it, but I am definitely into this new sound. And as predictable as it is, the album is all about his wife, Hailey. I’ve heard some criticism that all of the songs sound the same, which isn’t a lie. We see a much more understated Justin in this album. It’s a grown up sound for someone that has truly grown up in the last few years.

Justin Bieber: Seasons

https://youtu.be/jFuOoAFJlOg

True to the timeline of the original announcement, we’re now getting a sneak peak of Justin’s trailer for the docu-series. We also know that it will be premiering on YouTube at the end of this month. Similar to the announcement and hearing “Yummy” for the first time, it’s also the backing track for this trailer as well. I wasn’t a die hard fan of Justin’s growing up, but I liked what YouTube did with Demi Lovato’s documentary and likely will watch this one as well.

#Bieber2020

He’s back. Not only are we getting a new single after the new year, but 2020 will grace us with a new album, tour, and docuseries. I can’t believe this is my first thought, but is there anything worse than competing against your ex in the charts? It wasn’t too long ago (but okay, it felt like ages) that Selena debuted two new songs and had a rough performance at the AMA’s. Her first single evidently took a swipe at Bieber, but will he return it right back?

I’m not partial to either of them, but musically, if we had to choose, it would be Bieber.

Justin and Hailey Bieber x Vogue

Like the rest of the world, I was completely shocked when this cover story came out. It’s no secret that Justin and Hailey have been together for some time now so this wasn’t breaking news. How they ended up together after a whirlwind romance though was. It felt like we were in this ongoing back and forth between Justin and Selena for years. Then out of nowhere, Hailey swooped in to become his wife. While their romance seemed fast, they’ve actually known each other for years. To be honest, we don’t know that much about her. She isn’t quite the media star that we know other celebrities to be. And while she does come from a famous family, Hailey is quite elusive. It has actually served her well! It makes us think that there must be something pretty special about her if she can tame down a firecracker like Justin.

The cover and shoot is shot by famous photographer Annie Leibovitz and highlights what life with the Biebers are really like. I found their photoshoot to be quite endearing actually.

Is it just me or does this photo feel a little bit out of place than the rest? It’s candid sure, but not the best of the both of them.

Justin Bieber – Trust

We’re having a Justin Bieber moment right now. Remember when this album first came out and we were all amazed at how good his songs were? Well, they’re still that good I guess.

Music Video of the Day

We’re pretty much just posting this because we like the song, but the music video for “Company” highlights a behind the scenes look of Justin on tour. Doesn’t this just make him seem like the opposite of all his media stories?

Grammys 2016 Red Carpet

Selena Gomez in Calvin Klein

The red carpet for me this year was just so-so. There wasn’t anything that I absolutely loved or hated, maybe in the end I just prefer things like the Golden Globes or The Oscars. Usually, the first look that I share is something that I really like. This time, though I give this look a 6/10. The sparkly blue is nice and sure the cut-outs are edgy, but it’s really not anything we haven’t seen before. Also her old school hair is just meh to me.

We Have to Talk About Bieber

https://youtu.be/lbBzK7OXE4A

Okay okay, I will admit that it wasn’t more than a couple of years ago that I just threw my hands up and said – “DONE WITH THE BIEBS!” I never got into his music when he first started out and for the longest time I was always on Team Selena and thought that his immature self was just dragging her down. However, we did kind of a 360 last week when “Purpose” came out and I found myself loving almost every song. That breakup with Selener did him some good. Meanwhile, her latest album “Revival” is kind of flopping and she’s whispering her performances to make it look like she’s a really good performer. Spoiler alert: she’s not, really. I will also admit that this is the first time that I’ve actually really enjoyed Justin’s vocals on his tracks. In the past, I always thought that I just enjoyed the beats of his songs like “Beauty and the Beat,” but he’s really showing what he can offer on his latest album.
