It’s bittersweet to be watching the red carpet this evening. With the news of Kobe and his daughter’s passing, it’s not surprising that celebrities want to get across the carpet without doing any interviews. Still, as everyone has been saying ‘the show must go on’ and while difficult, it’s turning out to be pretty great so far. Tonight, we’re highlighting look and tomorrow we’ll share our favorite performances including the tribute to Kobe.

Jonas Brothers Comeback

Boy, can I be a tough critic when a new single comes out! At first listen, my thought was “It ain’t no ‘Burnin’ Up.” But then reality set in and I realized I’ve listened to this song on repeat for the entire day. It is, in fact, a very strong comeback from the brothers and in its very own unique way, it is a bop! I have no idea what the music video is about, but it doesn’t matter. The brothers featured their three wives/partners in it and it wasn’t weird in the slightest. It was actually quite endearing and we almost wanted more?

Who steals the show? Sophie, by miles. Priyanka does her same old schtick that we’ve seen in everything that she does with Nick now, but Sophie was the superstar here. Why? Because she’s a complete weirdo! Her top three moments:

  • Biting the bush
  • Pouring her champagne into her bath
  • Spitting her champagne into her bath

On another note, it’s also quite refreshing to see Danielle, Kevin’s wife! Their relationship has always been so sweet to me because they met organically while on a family vacation and she was a non-celebrity. Though it wasn’t popular, I thoroughly enjoyed their short-lived reality show.

We’ve been a longtime Nick Jonas fan, but the vocals award goes to Joe in “Sucker.” His part clearly stands out above the rest. This is a strong debut for a group that I thought would never return to music as a band, but it makes me excited for what’s to come. I’ve already agreed with one of my best friends that we are definitely headed to their tour. How powerful a single can be…

Kevin Jonas and Wife Danielle Expecting

I can’t believe I’m writing a post that has to do with Kevin Jonas, but this is more so about the two of them and Danielle than anything. The couple are expecting their first baby! I became a fan of Danielle’s after watching the first season of Married to Jonas and found her to be quite brave in addressing her issues with anxiety – something that so many face, but never really actually talk about.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Married to Jonas season 3 is also to be expected, don’t you think?

In the News… [some really messed up news]

– Despite his entire personal life being splashed across the front pages of newspapers and tabloids and his god-awful new nickname of “cheater Woods,” Tiger Woods was still voted the top athlete of the decade. Really…?

– Bilboard has also declared Nickelback as the band of the decade. What is wrong with the world?


– Today, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry passed away after he suffered severe injuries upon falling out of a pickup truck during a messy dispute with his wife. He was discovered on a residential road and rushed to the hospital, but it was too late. He was 26.

– Our country is beginning to lose that “hope” that we were instilled with when Barack Obama became President this year. The numbers and percentages regarding optimism and reflection over President Obama’s job in the office have been declining rapidly. The numbers are online somewhere I’m sure, I watched the segment on NBC nightly news last night. If you thought our unemployment rate was bad in Seattle… well it’s 50% in Detroit. Yeah, that’s terrible.

– When I was nine years old, I was singing along to Spice Girls. These days I guess it’s okay for a nine-year-old Noah Cyrus, sister of Miley Cyrus, to be singing Akon’s “Smack That.” Does the girl even know what the lyrics mean? Miley’s camp is cheering for her like it’s cute, it’s not cute. It’s just discomforting.

– Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have finally called it quits after three years together.

– The Hills will be returning for a sixth season on MTV. Filming will start up after New Years. NOOOOOOOOOO!

Happy 20th Anniversary Simpsons! They premiered on television exactly 20 years ago.

– Project Runway season 7 will return to Lifetime on January 14th.

– American Apparel has just announced that they have launched a nail polish line.

Kevin Jonas gets engaged!

Kevin flew overnight to New Jersey, after his Vancouver show to finally propose to his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa. They met in 2007 in the Bahamas while they were both vacationing with their families.

Jonas popped the question after arriving in New Jersey on an overnight flight from a concert in Vancouver. “It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world,” he says.
