When Disney Makes You Choose A Side

Leave it to the younger generation to get the rest of us involved with a Disney love triangle. This is one of the reasons why I find TikTok to be such a darling. It has the ability to make things blow up and make you care about things you never would have previously. A few weeks ago, I noticed a trending sound – a new single – from a name I had never heard of before. Olivia Rodrigo, who is an actress on Disney+’s High School Musical show, apparently had her heart broken and wrote a gut wrenching song about it. The man taught her how to drive! And now that she does have her license, she can’t even use her license to drive over to his house because they are no longer together.

Also, I’d like to note that I’ve read and watched many TikToks about this scandal, but I feel like it isn’t confirmed that they actually were dating and just speculation. One half of the crowd actually believes this is all a PR scheme. Why? Because the boy in question and her co-star (nothing to write home about honestly) is now dating another Disney star, Sabrina Carpenter. Not only did Olivia and said guy, Josh, also release songs in the same time frame, but so did Sabrina!

Who really cares about the guy though? I’m going to drop both songs here and let you all decide which you prefer. Sabrina says her release is not in response to “Driver’s License,” but how can it not be? We know this can’t be a coincidence. Honestly, they are both bops. I just want to know why these two amazing ladies might be pining over some mediocre guy.

BTS Week on Jimmy Fallon

Our favorite KPOP group blessed us with not one, but five performances on Jimmy Fallon all week long! I’ve said this early on that this group knows exactly what they’re doing when it comes to promoting themselves. However, now that we’re a month into the release of “Dynamite,” I’ve had a few other thoughts. This wasn’t a normal promotional cycle for a song release. BTS knew exactly what they were doing and they came to dominate. A whole week on Jimmy Fallon, a commercial release and partnership with Samsung, a collaboration with Jason Derulo, and a cover story with Variety all in one week? This was no coincidence. Their fan base, ARMY, has commented that they feel absolutely spoiled and honestly I feel the same way – completely overwhelmed with all of the content.

Each night gave us a new performance by BTS on Jimmy Fallon’s late night show and it was a surprise which song it would be. They even dug a bit deeper into their archives with “Idol” and “Home,” but one thing was for sure. The purpose was to show range. They are more than just their English single “Dynamite” and that they can perform and succeed in any type of genre thrown their way. Don’t even get me started on the production value of each performance. Each one looked like a freakin’ music video in itself.

Catchphrase with Jimmy Fallon and Friends

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVugmR_MQII#t=286]

Oh, woof! I’m letting y’all down tonight with posts because I’ve recently fallen under the weather. This Catchprase clip with Jimmy Fallon, Lucy Liu, Zachary Quinto and Giada blah blah blah is so great though. I’m convinced that Lucy Liu is my twin and not just because everyone says she’s my doppelganger because no one else can think of another Asian actress in the industry.
