Lush to Launch Monthly Subscription Service

With the environment that we’re living in, retail shopping as we know it has changed forever. It’s not as easy to browse around stores because if any of us are in-person shopping at all, we’re making it quick. We drive ourselves to the stores only for things that we need. This style of shopping won’t be changing any time soon so Lush is taking things into their own hands. By launching a monthly subscription service, their loyal customers will have access to four to five exclusive products voted on by the customers. Every month, customers can vote on the products they want to receive and the highest voted products land in your box.

We cannot downplay how challenging retail is for businesses during this time, but I love seeing how they take on a creative approach. The box, through a membership program called Lush Kitchen, will retail for about $46 USD/a month + shipping. For more information, visit [Lush].

Protective Nourishment Blueberry Scrub Mask – 2 Minute Treatment – $55

In the month of January, we were all about “treating ourselves” so if you peruse this post, you may notice a lot more pampering than usual and we don’t really mind it! Why shouldn’t we deserve all of these things. Also while writing this, I’m realizing that these would make some pretty great Valentine’s Day gifts as well! *wink wink

Beauty for Breakfast Pt. 19

For most adults, baths aren’t really something you want to do to kick off your day, but if you certainly had the time, why not? I finally used my Lush bath bomb yesterday evening and it totally took me back to my childhood when baths were pretty much an everyday thing. Showers were scary at that age for me. Baths for me are a more recent thing though and Lush products are simply the best. They come in fun colors, they smell good, and the bath bombs last for so long. For someone like me who finds it difficult to find the time to just sit back and relax, bath time was perfection. It’s also just really easy to do. Recipe? A Lush bath bomb, lots of water, and a jambox to provide the soundtrack to your night.

The Closet: December 2014

Catbird Choupette Necklace – Rose Gold – $298

Typically I publish this list a week or so before Christmas since Kevin has said that he has used it for inspiration when shopping for presents for me in the past, but this year we just went straight to it and told each other what we wanted. This post is extremely accessory/jewelry heavy which is completely new for me, but with 2015 just around the corner, I figured – why not? I’m probably not going to get any of the things on this list, but I’m very much okay with it. Adult me needs to save $$$ anyways.

Treat Yo’self!

Sure, it’s a Parks and Rec reference, but it was also a saying that my friend Tori said to me in college all of the time. Her and I worked very closely together and saw each other almost on a daily basis. Every time I put in a few extra hours or became extra stressed – she never made me feel bad for that glass of beer, that dessert that I bought for myself to indulge in, or anytime I did something when I should’ve been doing my homework or actual work. She would say to me in a very direct way, “Treat yo’self gurl!” Every now and then, I still think of her saying that to me when the times are tough and as always, I follow her advice accordingly.

One of my favorite ways to unwind is with a bath! When I was younger, I found these to be really inefficient because I always thought showers were so much faster. I think part of that was because my parents had an amazing shower with big glass panels (like those on GlassShowerDirect.com) and I used to spend hours in there, so I never chose a bath. That meant I never truly learnt to enjoy a bath, but there’s something really relaxing about sinking into one and lighting a candle. I spoiled myself awhile back by trying a bath bomb and today because it was Black Friday, I did myself a solid by buying this one above from Lush. $7 bath bombs on a monthly basis are within my budget constraints, right? If not, we’ll make sure they are.
