Rumors Rumors

Those planning Capitol Hill Block Party are petitioning to make this year’s festival into a 3-day festival instead of the usual two. Supposedly this extra day is to accommodate the requests of …. wait for it…

MGMT

and Blue Scholars. Oh shooot the masses will invade Block Party this year.

MGMT gives an F U to mainstream

Wanna hear the new album? Just go to their official website Whoismgmt.com to stream their entire CD. Let me just warn you though, don’t listen to it expecting any Electric Feel, Kids, or Time to Pretend because you are most definitely NOT going to get that. Good for the MGMT guys who have gone in this new direction. I suspect that there may have been some re-evaluation after that last album.

How do I feel about this album?

Not gonna lie, I was expecting some dance electropop, but now that I didn’t get it, it’s kind of refreshing. The first few songs reminded me of Vampire Weekend actually and now I’m left wondering how crowds will react when they perform their upcoming shows.

Bonnaroo Style

The lineup was amazing this year and if it weren’t in Tennessee and in… say, Seattle maybe, I would’ve been there in a second! My dear friend Ashlea is from there however, and she is sending me a shirt!

I don’t have any highlights from the festival itself but here are some fashion snapshots:

Drew Barrymore is a hippy indian child. This isn’t a great outfit but I feel like everyone should be allowed to dress like whatever for a festival just because it’s fun.

Bonnaroo

What an amazing lineup. I think I like it even more than Coachella’s. Nothing beats Snoop, GIRL TALK ( I will always love)  Andrew Bird, MGMT, Of Montreal, Jenny Lewis, Santogold, The Ting Tings and Portugal. The Man. All in one place.
