Written and directed by Joseph Gordon Levitt, the actor plays a character that resembles someone of a guido. Does this take place in Jersey Shore? I didn’t look it up, but probably. This seems like a very interesting character though and he’s co-starring alongside Scarlett Johansson.

Summer Movies to Look Forward To

Since there are so many great movies coming out this summer, I thought I would share with you a few that I found interesting. None of the descriptions are written by me because…I don’t write movie descriptions…well. But it’s cool, cause other people have! Check out the trailers. One addresses the Civil Rights Movement – power to Emma Stone. The second is a comedy and the third is an indie flick featuring my always favorite – Emma Roberts – as of course the indie manic pixie dream girl. The last film is kind of like the third.

Tate Taylor directed the film, which stars Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard, Viola Davis, Allison Janney and Sissy Spacek in an empowerment story set during the American Civil Right movement. Stone plays an aspiring journalist who puts herself in the thick of the fight between whites and blacks to try and make a difference. “The Help” will be in theaters on Aug. 12. [Source]

Growing up together, Mitch (Reynolds) and Dave (Bateman) were inseparable best friends, but as the years have passed they’ve slowly drifted apart. While Dave is an overworked lawyer, husband and father of three, Mitch has remained a single, quasi-employed man-child who has never met a responsibility he liked. To Mitch, Dave has it all: beautiful wife Jamie (Leslie Mann), kids who adore him and a high-paying job at a prestigious law firm. To Dave, living Mitch’s stress free life without obligation or consequence would be a dream come true.

Following a drunken night out together, Mitch and Dave’s worlds are turned upside down when they wake up in each other’s bodies and proceed to freak the &*#@ out. [Source]

So funny story… this film is actually called “The Art of Getting By Now.”
Starring Emma Roberts and Freddie Highmore, the film is about George, a young self-described slacker who in his senior year of high school takes up with the equally aloof Sally and together they get their malaise on while going…clubbing? Or something. Naturally, their relationship gets complicated and….sigh, we’re pretty sure we’ve seen this movie about a hundred times before. There are some bright spots though, particularly Michael Angarano, who seems to be playing a mentor-type character with rugged, bearded authority.“The Art of Getting By” opens in limited release on June 17th before going wide in July. Fifteen-year-old Oliver Tate has two big ambitions: to save his parents’ marriage via carefully plotted intervention and to lose his virginity before his next birthday. Worried that his mom is having an affair with New Age weirdo Graham, Oliver monitors his parents’ sex life by charting the dimmer switch in their bedroom. He also forges suggestive love letters from his mom to dad. Meanwhile, Oliver attempts to woo his classmate, Jordana, a self-professed pyromaniac who supervises his journal writing – especially the bits about her. When necessary, she orders him to cross things out. Based on Joe Dunthorne’s acclaimed novel, Submarine is a captivating coming-of-age story with an offbeat edge. [Source]

What If Ferris Were Indie

I am still amazed at how phenomenal editing can change just about anything. Joseph Brett has taken the classic film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and modeled the trailer to showcase the film as an indie flick.

Twicon takes you out to Sea!

I think the last Twilight post I did was about Twicon, the ridiculous convention that was wayyy too over priced. But now Twilight wants to take you on a voyage with “Twilight Sail to Alaska and Convention at Sea!”

The party is hosted by CCC (Cruises Cruises Cruises) with guest appearances from Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz.

An excerpt from the official CCC website with commentary (the line-out) from someone else. The original post was found on ONTD…

Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Linda Wolf… the owner and “Captain” of Cruises Cruises Cruises, Inc. I also happen to be a huge fan of the Twilight saga. Our newest themed cruise event is our Alaska Twilight Cruise and Convention at Sea… August 8-15, 2010. Our goal for this event is to make as much money as possible while people are still into this crap integrate the magnificent beauty of Alaska with the immensely popular Twilight phenomenon. Imagine an Alaska Cruise Adventure with a Twilight Convention at Sea…it’s the weirdest idea ever best of both worlds…for sure.

We are sensitive to today’s economic issues and for this reason we are having our Alaska Twilight Cruise in 2010 rather than this year. We want to give you plenty of time to take out a bank loan if necessary plan ahead. We offer customized payment plans without interest or service fees.
