Lost Things

Please enjoy this beautiful stop motion video entitled Lost Things. The short stop motion film was directed by photographer and artist Angela Kohler and produced by Butch Walker. The lovely girl featured in the film is none other than the talented Alison Sudol of A Fine Frenzy. It’s her song, “Sleepwalking” that is actually the soundtrack behind the film.

Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas are dating!

They sure  do love to stay within their Disney circles huh?

Maybe this is why Demi and Taylor Swift are no longer such close friends and all of a sudden Selena Gomez is spending all of her time with Taylor Swift and not Demi. Interesting.

Lesbians who Look like Justin Bieber

There’s not much that I can say about this time waster site. In my opinion, there are a lot of people that look like him and they’re not just lesbians. There is definitely a kid here at my school who I see all the time and for some reason I have this urge to make him sing me his hit song. The truth is, he doesn’t really look like Justin Bieber. He just has blonde hair and a baby face… or is it a generic face? I’ll let you decide that one :)
I don’t believe this kid has ever been in love. I don’t enjoy his music. I’m holding these negative feelings against him because I once watched this video of him eating a combination of food that had been mixed up in a blender. He threw it up and then proceeded to try and eat it off the table. Worst thing to watch ever.

Chris Walla – Sing Again

Because I just spent my entire Friday night listening to Seattle music. This is actually my first time ever seeing this video and it’s so great! It was filmed in Seattle, the concept is fantastic, and I can’t remember if my old coworker was featured in this video or if it was his wife, but regardless, not knowing still doesn’t change the way I feel about this song or this video.

The City Never Sleeps…in NEW YORRRRRK

I don’t know about you, but four months later, I am still loving the “Empire State of Mind” song. As mainstream as it is, there’s no denying the goodness of it. So everytime I hear some news about New York, all I wanna do is sing, “…in NEWWWWW YORRRRK…These streets will make you feel brand new!”

Inspiring is what it is.

I’ve never been to New York, but from what I hear it is always being referred to as “the city that never sleeps,” and it’s easy to believe.

German photographer Christopher Thomas must have been conducting stakeouts because he has managed to compose a book of photographers proving that the city does sleep after all. After nearly a decade of snapping these rare shots, he has managed to capture notable sights with not one single person in them.

Harvest of Hope Fest

This weekend, the Harvest of Hope Fest is going down in St. Augustine, Florida. This is the first time I’m ever hearing of this festival, but they seem to have a fairly decent lineup including my favorites: Portugal. The Man, Kimya Dawson, Rogue Wave, Matt Pond PA, Kid Sister, and many more. To check out the rest of the lineup click here

All proceeds from this festival will go directly towards the Harvest of Hope Foundation, a non profit that seeks to provide both educational and emergency aid for migrant farm workers . You can buy a one-day pass or a three day pass. Just kidding you can’t buy the three day pass because the festival starts today. My bad.

Sorry I cannot hear you I’m K-kinda busy

Alright first thoughts HERE:

I watched the video last night with my dear friend Alexis while a million things were running through my mind. Below are my questions and comments.

- Did you know that Lady Gaga originally pened this song for Britney Spears, but she turned it down so Lady Gaga took it and her and Beyonce made it AWESOME.

- Why did the beginning of Telephone look like an old school hip hop video?

- Borderline porn. Maybe?

- Laurie Ann Gibson overhyped that choreography.

- 9 minute and 32 second video. It was more of like a story line, but I sort of hoped that the video was more of a music video and didn’t have so many breaks.

- Everything else, not that shocking. Still a great song.

Your turn!

Music Videos…why?

I came across the new alternative version of the music video for KiD CuDi’s Pursuit of Happiness yesterday. Not only is the song enjoyable, but it’s a pretty decent video as well. So I guess my question is this… with the removal of music videos from MTV what is really the point now of having them? Why spend the money and go through the effort and hard work of making one only to have a small audience viewing them. I can only imagine some people just YouTubing these videos to get their fix.

Why’d you do it MTV? By the way, does anyone remember the show “Making the Video?” Now I don’t see the point anymore and it is kind of a let down because they go to waste.

Song of the Day – Fairline Preview

Once upon a time, there was a band called Ivory. They were godly musicians that I adored. They have since disbanded. They remained off the radar for some time, but now one member is back and he has formed Fairline. Today, there are the song of the day because their new song “Run to the Sea” has been on repeat since I have been in my room. There are not that many songs in the world that have this kind of power over me. They have also relocated to Seattle from Chicago, which is good news for us because now we get to be in the presence of this amazing new band. They played a show with my friends The Scene Aesthetic this past Friday at the Kirkland Teen Union Building, which I heard was a successful turnout. You can also catch them again at El Corazon this Sunday at 7 PM for tickets at $10.

Fairline believes in the concept of “Free is Fair.” This means that every day for the next six days, they will be releasing a new song free to download, but if you wish to pay for it YOU get to name your price.

Dear Fairline – I hope you are the answer that we have been searching for to bring us back the Seattle music scene. I see the potential in you and I see the hope that can revive what we have once lost.

To hear their music visit their Myspace here!

If I could be talented in one thing it would be singing. No, it would be singing and dancing. I understand that that is two different talents, but they go hand in hand so just go with me here on the logic. I’ve already done a previous post on the wonderous PS22 Chorus. Do these kids go to school? I feel like all they ever do is film videos of themselves singing covers of songs. I don’t have a problem with it, but a girl can be curious. Here are the children performing one of my favorite songs by Phoenix – Lisztomania.

8-year-old Laura Fontana is good. She’s super cute and she does Bad Romance and Paparazzi well, but should a girl’s role model really be Lady Gaga? I mean…the woman bleeds randomly! (watch MTV performance) So I’m commentating as I watch this video, and I’m so captivated by her, but for some reason she looks weird to me. Maybe it’s the makeup, I don’t know, but it just seems a little bit much.

I don’t know! Interpret it as you wish!

Kings of Convenience – Rule My World

I’ve been listening to Kings of Convenience all week! If I could recommend you any album right now, this would be it.
