Mom Dad, don’t watch this. You’re not going to like it.
But, I’m actually singing this song everyday in the car on the way to work in the mornings.
So I missed Sia’s performance of “Elastic Heart” last night, but it’s a performance that I was looking forward to all week because Maddie Ziegler was going to be perofrming choreography alongside her. As expected, it didn’t disappoint. Is it weird that I felt like my eyes were glued to her moves rather than Sia herself? I guess that’s not so surprising because Sia herself was in one position the entire time and that was maybe done on purpose to give Maddie more of the attention.
My co-worker asked me yesterday if this music video was staged before I even watched it, but after peeking my curiosity, I obviously had to. And the verdict? Well, it’s not staged actually. They really did crash all of these weddings, but my guess is that there had to be someone in the wedding party or someone close to the bride and groom that knew that this was going to happen. I mean… look at that production! How could you not know? Fun fact though – the director of “Wedding Crashers” also directed this music video. Someone clearly knows what they are doing.
Also, I have not listened to anything else, but this song since yesterday. Maybe we love it more because of the weddings aspect.
I’m pretty sure that Ben Gibbard could cover anything – any song on the planet – and I would still be in love with it. I’ve been listening to “Archie, Marry Me” for a couple months now so when I heard that Ben had covered this song, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.
I was woken up by this song as my alarm the other day and didn’t think too much of it, but when I was woken up by it a second time this morning, it was all I could think about. I repeated the song six times in a row today at the office. I thought it was a little bit too sweet for 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack given what I know about the film, but that only makes me a little bit more curious that it won’t be as rough as it sounds.
It is sometimes still crazy to me that Alabama has music festivals. What else goes down in Alabama? I need to know.
Every Sunday, I spend a small chunk of my day catching up on the wedding videos from the week so that I have something for you on Monday. Prior to any video watching though, I met up with a friend this morning for brunch – a friend of mine who just happens to be on the road to getting engaged. And wow, I couldn’t be happier for her! There was never any doubt in my mind that they wouldn’t end up together and I think the reason why everyone already feels like this is the right thing for them is because we kind of already consider them married. During our chat we must’ve covered everything under the sun – her relationship, my relationships, what it means to settle, and how so many people can be the same age, but be at varying stages in their lives. At one point, she looked at me and just said, “I can’t wait for you to have what we have. You deserve it.” Andddd what happened next was that my eyes welled up and I cried, “I want that too!” Sometimes we forget that we’re in public places, but the best friends to have are the ones that will talk to you about anything – no matter where you are. I’m pretty lucky to have her.
So long story short, watching wedding videos today was a little bit more emotionally charged than usual. I was hooked on Leah and Mikey’s wedding the minute I heard the song. I hadn’t heard it before, but sometimes when you know, you know. I had to keep watching. I had to finish this video and I just knew that there was no part of it that was going to disappoint me.
First off, I love videos by Flora + Fauna. Secondly, how gorgeous is this J. Mendel gown? I am really hoping you all love this video as much as I do! For the full wedding feature, view it here at Green Wedding Shoes.
I heard this song for the first time last night when one of my friends played it at our dinner party and it didn’t take too long for it to grow on me. It’s awfully sweet.
Happy Sunday y’all!
