Out On The Town: 9/27

Several years ago, Noah and the Whale released their single, “Blue Skies” and I fell in love with it immediately. Years later, it’s still one of my favorite songs.  These guys will be playing at the Neptune tonight on their Heart of Nowhere tour. If you’re looking for plans, this band will surely lead to a wonderful start to your weekend.

Tickets are $20 today and doors will open at 8:00PM with the show starting at 9:00PM. Special guests include Poor Moon.

RIP Neptune Theater

Dear Neptune Theater,

Rest in peace. Four years ago, I watched the opening of Juno with my friend Sasha and that was the first and last time I ever stepped foot into your theater. Best of luck in your future endeavors. Seriously. I can’t wait for that music venue!

Neptune Theater to Close and re-open as music venue

Yesterday, the Neptune Theater in the U-District announced in an official statement that they would be shutting down as a movie theater. However, the building will be transformed into another Seattle music venue owned by STG. STG is responsible for other venues within the city including The Paramount and The Moore Theater. While some locals are not too pleased about the news, I am ecstatic! I can’t wait to see what shows will come to the new theater.

The Neptune Theater will stop running in February 2011 and will then begin its transition into a music venue.
