Even though I have never stepped foot into this city, there is something that I find extremely charming about the homes in New York City. On the verge of graduation, it seems a little unrealistic for a poor college student like me to pick up and move right away, but someday I hope I can call a place like this my home – at least for a little while.

This brownstone found in Brooklyn is catching some buzz because it is only 12ft wide. After taking a look at the pictures, the size of the width doesn’t even seem to look like as small as it really is. Much of the interior was designed and placed strategically in order to maximize space.

Growing up, I’ve always lived by this rule that airports were the only acceptable setting for someone to be wearing sweats in public. Sometimes, even that seemed like a stretch. No one wants to be uncomfortable while traveling. You have to take off your shoes. You’re confined to a seat. You’re sitting next to people that you don’t want to be sitting by. The blankets are measly and sometimes they’ve already got some vomit on them. Nice, right?! I’ve had my fair share of bad luck with traveling.

So I can’t blame you if you want to be wearing sweats at the airport, but you should know that there are more appropriate ways of being comfortable while flying. Celebrities do it all the time in your standard tee and jeans outfit so we should all be able to as well.

Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, brought on with her a second outfit to change into as she flew from New York to Los Angeles. When she got on the plane, she was wearing a Louis Vuitton dress, but soon after she had sat down, the editor excused herself to the bathroom and came out wearing jeans and a “cute top.” Sure enough, before the plane landed in Los Angeles, Wintour was back in her Louis Vuitton dress again. This woman is incredible.

This time, last year I was introduced to the CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival by an agent, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it there because I was in school HOBviously. Once I found out how awesome it really was, I was disappointed in not finding out about it sooner. Apparently CMJ was created to connect tons of new artists and bands with agents all over the country. The entire event, which takes place in New York City spans over five days and is a great opportunity for everyone to just network and promote themselves non-stop. It’s kind of the perfect place for both musicians and agents because around this time agents are looking for new bands to sign as are management companies. Someday, maybe I’ll make it over there, but for now, I’m just going to recommend to you a list of great bands you should catch (if you’re headed that way) or just some bands that you should listen to. This year’s event begins Tuesday, October 18th – 22nd.

New York, I Love You and Valetine’s Day.

I know some people really enjoy movies like these, but they are such disorganized messes that not even an all-star cast can save the actual film.

We are so over your ish.

Dakota Fanning is a new freshman student at New York University this year and with a career like hers, there’s no way we could have ever expected her to shack up in a dorm room. Now, I loved my dorm experience. I was all about the friends and being involved for the first two years, but I was living in such a small space and sharing bathrooms with everyone on my floor. Those weren’t exactly the best perks about dorm room living. I suppose Dakota weighed her pros and cons and decided that her two bedroom / two bathroom apartment with 27-hr doorman and a sundeck was much better than on campus housing and after seeing photographs of her apartment – I think I can agree.

It’s not known if she has a roommate or not,  but I would imagine little sister Elle would sometimes crash with her. The apartment is $8,400 a month and happens to be the same building that Mr. John Mayer lives in as well. Any chance I can find an apartment like this for a price that is much less in New York City? One can only hope.

Fashion Week (or as like to call it – Fashion Month) is about to become much more pretentious than ever before. Fashion Month works because none of them overlap. First comes New York, then comes London. After that, we have Milan and Paris is last. Turns out, Milan is not happy with that arrangement.

Milan has reportedly decided to place their Fashion Week in dates that would conflict with both New York and London’s fashion weeks, which is going to send every fashion magazine into a frenzy. Milan is essentially giving them an ultimatum and trying to prove who is most powerful out of the fashion capitals.

Who will rise to the top? Only time will tell.
