Oreo Wonder Vault

Back in February, Oreo partnered with Weber Shandwick along with Iontank, 360i, The Martin Agency, and Carat to bring to New York City locals the Oreo Wonder Vault! I wish Mandi and I would’ve known about this while we were there because I definitely would’ve put this on our list of things to see, but from the articles that I’ve been reading about it, it seems as if it might’ve been in commission for just one day! So what’s behind the mysterious door you ask? Well, behind the door, passerbys had access to new Oreo flavors that they could’ve picked up six days before the actual release. Apparently, it was the Filled Cupcake Oreo. Yum!

Oreo provided some additional facts about the wondrous “vault”:• As many as 50 prototype flavors and more than 100 additional ideas can be in the Wonder Vault at any time.

• Usually 12-18 months of creation, including monthly tastings, get us to the perfect, delicious flavor but some flavors spend years in the Vault before they are ready for release.
• We make our initial prototypes by hand. Once we feel confident in the flavor, we create a batch in our bakery and the process goes from there with taste tests along the way.
• We try every flavor of crème coming out of the vault on both chocolate and golden cookies to get to the just-right combination, and we are always experimenting with new ideas to make sure we deliver the most delicious treat possible.
• The limited edition process never stops; we have lots of flavor ideas just waiting to make their way to the world.

We’re not sure if the vault is still working or available, but can someone in New York go check for us?! It’s on 18th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. Please and thank you!

Starbucks to Open 20,000 SQ Foot Location in New York

BIG news. Starbucks is opening a 20,000 square-foot location in New York in 2018. Just wrap your head around that for a second. This will be the largest location out of all their stores – even out of the gazillion locations in Seattle and that’s where they are originally from. I just went to New York a few weeks ago for the first time and I remember Mandi telling me that New York just isn’t known for its coffee. I had a latte at Donut Plant that I liked, but for some reason just like I thought Seattle was the hub for coffee, I thought New York would be the same. I even got a drink at Starbucks when I was there and it was kind of awful and made me miss the one I go to regularly in the Bay Area. Hopefully, this new location won’t disappoint though. This location will be the second version of the Roastery located in Capitol Hill and will essentially be the East Coast version of it.

By the way, if you haven’t stop by for a visit, it is stunning. You don’t need to spend too much time there, but there’s a lot to see and it’s one of the fancier locations in the entire Seattle area. The New York City Roastery will live in a new building that is currently in construction in Chelsea.

Panorama Music Festival 2016

From the creators of Coachella…

The festival will take place in the same location as Governor’s Ball and my guess is that Governor’s Ball organizers aren’t happy about it.

Governor’s Ball 2016 Lineup

Screen Shot 2016-01-09 at 6.50.00 PM

Out of all of the music festival lineups that were released this week, Governor’s Ball is the one that I’m the most excited about… but probably the one I’ll be least likely to attend only because I don’t think I’ll have a chance to go to New York twice this year! There’s been rumors that this is actually the best Governor’s Ball lineup that anyone has ever seen and I’m not arguing that. At first sight, I was in shock at how amazing these acts are and how lucky these attendees will be to get to see these people LIVE! Who am I most excited about? Oh so many…

  • Father John Misty
  • Chet Faker
  • Years & Years
  • Lord Huron
  • Death Cab for Cutie (always!)
  • Kanye
  • Miike Snow
  • Two Door Cinema Club
  • Miguel
  • Jamie XX
  • Bloc Party
  • Galantis
  • Vic Mensa

Wow even looking at this lineup again, there were a few people that I realized I didn’t even see the first time around!

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/121415389]

We are doing this so last minute! I didn’t think that I was going to have one for today and for a split second even thought that I could just hold it off until next Monday, but then I thought… I have 33 more minutes left and I don’t want to disappoint. I was first drawn to this wedding because of Amanda’s stunning wedding dress from Basix Black Label purchased at Lovely Bride. The details, the long sleeves, and the beading – it’s all a romantic’s dream. Her and Sean seem like a very classic couple and the New York backdrop was a no brainer selection for them. Usually when I’m scrolling through all the pictures of a wedding that I can’t wait to see more of, I usually hold my breath hoping that there’s a wedding video at the end waiting for me. Sure enough, there was. Sean’s daughter intro’ed the video with a touching speech followed by the bride and groom sharing vows and footage of the flawless couple.

I love that Amanda wore her hair up for the ceremony and photos and down for the reception. It’s perfect.

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/101990950]

Good morning everyone! There’s nothing like a holiday weekend with family to rejuvenate you and spring you back into a Monday. As tiring as traveling can be (okay, I was on an hour long flight,) I’m feeling more refreshed than ever and ready to end this year on a high note. We’re back on our Wedding Mondays routine and it feels pretty good.

This morning I’m sharing with you all a dream of a wedding video! While I’ve never even been to New York, I’m so envious of all the rooftop weddings that get to take place there. There is nothing more chic than exchanging nuptials at the top of a building as the sun is going down.

Things Julian Casablancas Says

Questions:

1. What is Julian Casablancas doing in GQ?

2. What? This quote?

3. What does he even have against brunch? Especially brunch in New York, which I hear is actually pretty good.
